[ Some of us have been FORBIDDEN from taking memories from too long and it's time to catch up ]

[ her hand is immediately on his back, expression blank, but boy are her emotions all over the place... mostly anger. ] Raven, [ said softly. ] c’Mere. [ tries to steer him into her. ]

[he doesn't respond, but he's pliant and easily moved. the only sound he's making is a gasping, wheezing noise, his gaze unfocused]

[ pulls him into her and wraps both her arm and her tail around him. ] I’m here for you, Raven. [ rubs his back in slow and soothing motions in an effort to try to calm him down some. ]

[there's no response, just heavy breathing and a noise like an upset whine in the back of his throat]

[ in a flash her aibou is out to shield the both of them from view as she starts tugging him impossibly closer. ] H- Hey. [ she’s getting a little worried now. ] Raven. [ her hand moves up from his back and into his hair, nails gently taking over his scalp. ]

[he shudders and ducks his head, struggling to breathe]

... I...

[ to her aibou. ] Get us out of here, now. [ she tightens her grip on raven and keeps him close as her aibou moves under them to pick them both up. ] To a rooftop or something. Just away, please.

[he's pliant but kind of confused]

... Dva...?

...just going somewhere with much less people, so you can sort through all of these thoughts, alright. Nothing else. And I figure the breeze might help. [ the air is a bit stagnant here on the ground... ]

Where...?

[420blazeit]

A garden rooftop. I know of one that's not too far. Is that alright? I'll keep you pressed closely and if you'd like to keep your eyes closed until we arrive, you can, but I promise no one and no thing is going to hurt you while I'm around. [ ... ] If you'd share your thoughts with me I can even try to keep them from causing you harm and striking fear into your heart too.

[his head is spinning too much to really parse all of that but he trusts her to protect him so he just nods]

[ she'll bring him to something like this to set him down, keeping close, herself, as she instructs her aibou to remain nearby. ] ... [ gently runs her hand through his hair, giving him time to continue unpacking the horrible memory he just saw. ]

[he sits on the bench and looks around at everything as though he's seeing it for the first time, distracted]

... right. A garden.

[ hums a response and continues threading her fingers through her hair, but eventually her hand stops and moves to his shoulder and she scoots closer to him. ] Do you want me to take away from of the pain? [ she'll offer her hand to him. ]

[he just blinks at her]

... I don't understand.

Buddy System. If you’d like to open up your feelings and emotions to me we can do that. We’ve used it before for, uh, ...less serious things. [ like sex. ]

... I don't want... anyone to feel what I'm feeling right now.

[420blazeit]

...of course not, but you shouldn’t have to carry the burden on your own, Raven. I’m here to lighten the load and help. [ tugs him into her. ]

[he's pliant, unresisting, but not... terribly receptive, either]

Just... stay.

I’m not going anywhere, Raven. [ she just gazed out over the edge of the building. ] Do keep it in mind if things get to be too much. I can take a lot. And I’d absolutely take more for you.

I know. This is... different. No one... should ever have to feel that.

Not even you. [ moves her tail around him. ] I'm sorry you have to endure all that.

"The heart is a tumor of weakness"... perhaps that's why... he wanted to rid himself of it.

...his mind had been poisoned with all sorts of terrible thoughts. But don't think for a second that the heart is weak. It's not. It's a thing of strength. [ she reaches out for his hand, dragging it toward her chest, so he can feel the subtle and rhythmic beating of her heart. ] I know you call me your sword and your shield, but you do more for me than you realize.
