[ she is a very enthusiastic researcher who takes her bartender role seriously, and she will happily drop a library's worth of knowledge if prompted ]

Digestifs tend to be higher in alcohol compared to aperitifs, which are served at the beginning of a meal. The sensation of drinking one should be warming— one could cross reference this with the consumption of agari tea, at the end of a Japanese meal— as they produce a similar effect within the body and are distinguished by having stronger flavor. On the sweeter spectrum are liqueurs like the Italian Limoncello, Gran Marnier and Chartreuse from France— ah, the latter was originally brewed by monks as an elixir of life, but people became captivated by the complex mix of herbs... there are bitter liqueurs that were distilled for similar purposes, like the German Jäegermeister, then there are fruit brandies and fortified wines— oh... sorry, I got carried away. And where are my manners? I'm Creme Yvette of BARiTONES.

[... He loves her already.]

Hello, Creme Yvette. I'm sure I already introduced myself, but I am Medusa of Future is Now.

It's an honor to meet you.
tradesecret: (z) It's you and me; honeybunch)

Oh no, the pleasure is mine.

[ she bows politely. ]

Have you been to the library in the city yet?
justpure: (Oh my)

[personal profile] justpure 2019-05-14 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
... No, actually. I just woke up yesterday.

[He's serious! He is very new! And already doing counter lives like a trooper.]

You must take me there when this is over.
tradesecret: (z) You mean you have photographs?)

[personal profile] tradesecret 2019-05-14 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
And you're already getting to work! I like your style.

Of course. I would be happy to escort you.

That is what I'm here for, yes?

[At the very least, he is comfortable playing out his role. He thinks.]

Thank you...

Yes, but some drag their feet. Refuse to adapt.

It's encouraging to see those who get to work.

They do? That seems rather pointless, yes?

[It's like trying to go off a linear path when you have no map to point you elsewhere.]
tradesecret: (z) That sounds like a confession to me.)

[personal profile] tradesecret 2019-05-16 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm. Not everyone things logically or pragmatically, but I would say a fair majority of Future is Now thinks as you do.

It might be too early to have an opinion, but I think it's a good fit.
justpure: (Without heeding advice)

[personal profile] justpure 2019-05-16 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That's nice to know.

[Less of a chance for illogical actions until the arguing starts]

Yes... But why would it change later when there is but a linear, unmoving path ahead?

People with no frame of reference tend to be more receptive to their environment. Memories can sometimes change perspectives and make people more resistant to things that oppose their principles.
justpure: (scrum)

[personal profile] justpure 2019-05-17 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... I hadn't thought of that.

[True, it is possible to get memories, but he's only been here for like a day... Is it too soon? Should he save up a little more just in case?]
tradesecret: (z) Sure they can. Let me show you.)

[personal profile] tradesecret 2019-05-17 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ save for scar removal when death inevitably happens. ]

To be fair, I don't think most people do, but I've observed the culture shock experienced by those with all their memories here. In some ways, it seems like a handicap.

Ah, which isn't to suggest that people shouldn't purchase memories... I've learned some interesting skills from them.
justpure: (Take my life?)

[personal profile] justpure 2019-05-18 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Why buy scar removal when you cover your face in front of the cameras?]

Hm... Both points sound valid... I'll have to consider them.

[There is one person with her memories in tact, and she says she came from Hell... So...]
tradesecret: (z) Yes; but now I work for the UN)

[personal profile] tradesecret 2019-05-18 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ because SensitIV could open those wounds and then you'll be in trouble ]

One of your unitmates could be a good resource. Miss Furudo has all her memories.
justpure: (On the border of good and evil)

[personal profile] justpure 2019-05-18 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[... OH.]

As she had told me. Apperently there's an incentive for her, something she called graduation? It's a bit early for me to be thinking of such a thing, but I do know of it.
tradesecret: (z) It's you and me; honeybunch)

[personal profile] tradesecret 2019-05-18 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Leaving graduation aside, did memories seem like something of interest to you?
justpure: (That killed countless people)

[personal profile] justpure 2019-05-19 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
... Well.

[He hasn't thought too hard about those. He glances at his phone for a moment.]

I woke up with no identity and decided to find a new one if I was going to be an idol. Though, even if reclaiming my old memories would be counterintuitive to that goal, I can't help but be curious about my past.

... For now, I suppose I'll wait a few days before I buy one.
