[ With the weather outside being literally freezing, rather than a park graduation the hotel lobby has been decked out in terrible animal print, for a member of Wild City is graduating! The pillows have been abruptly reupholstered in leopard and cheetah, with zebra-tablecloth laid out over tables that have been laid with Japanese finger food. Croquettes, onigiri, sushi, kushiyaki and other similar foods have been laid out on platters in fun novelty shapes (this one looks like a fist! that ones an elephant!).

A big stuffed animal of a coyote is wearing a sash that says CONGRATULATIONS!!

It looks like it's Coyote's graduation. Probably for the girl on wild city, not the stuffed animal, but you can't be sure until you ask her, unless you're her CR or WILD CITY - in which case you received a text message from the Producers:

[ It's snowing outside. . . ! So it's pretty cold. You know what's not cold, though? The Game Tower! It's nice and warm and you are definitely being yoinked out of wherever you currently are for a possibly familiar ~game~. Don't worry though: you don't have to stay.

Instead of the elevators opening, the rules just appear on your phone. There's hot cocoa provided in the lobby, though in limited quantity and all of them come with marshmallows. Mandatory marshmallows. If you don't like marshmallows, well, too bad!

Incidentally, there are also a bunch of green plants growing around . . . everywhere. Everywhere!! At the doorways, in the elevators, just hanging from the ceiling, growing parasitically on plants that aren't even mistletoe . . . !? Where did they come from!? They're all tied with a red ribbon too, to make them more easily visible and clearly part of the game. They're not restricted to the game tower, either - the only places mistletoe doesn't show up in are the unit dorms. ]

[Good evening, everyone—the lobby has been transformed into a ballroom as foretold by the totally mysterious masquerade invitations going around yesterday!

The lobby has been vacated of most of the furniture, making way for a large dance floor. The walls are decorated with heavy cloth that has been hung and tied to resemble curtains; on the highest point of the back wall is a large, fake clock face with its hands frozen at the midnight hour.

A low fog clings to the dance floor and the color-changing cube lights from FiN's dorm have been set around to cast a slow-but-steady cycle of colors, giving the dance floor an interesting effect and bringing subtle color to the white cloths of the tables off to the side.

Among said tables, along the back wall, is a long buffet table consisting of a wide assortment of food and drinks—punch bowl, appetizers, meals, desserts; fish, red, vegetarian, YOU NAME IT AND IT'S PROBABLY HERE!

In one corner of the ballroom is a "photo booth"—an especially curtained/clocked corner done up for the sake of catching a Very Themed photo with the polaroid camera that's set-up. Thanks for the inspiration, maid cafe.

And in the opposite corner of the ballroom is a small tiered table—the top tier consists of a large cloched cake, and the main tier holds an assortment of wrapped gifts. If you want to drop off your own, there's room! More noticeably is a large, gold statue of a cute winged sheep sitting right by this set-up on the floor. Wowee!

Last, but not least, fancy instrumental music to set the mood for a dance in this masquerade is playing in the background.]

[ the Live today starts off with something the feed completely dark; then, there's a whisper - oh, which camera, that camera? OK.

shortly after that, the darkness in the camera shifts, light breaking into the feed to bring the hotel's lobby into focus: it's decorated with red and orange and black and white fabrics hung and draped around the walls and on the chairs, which have been rearranged into groups of 2-4 with tables (possibly stolen from the actual café, they will be returned eventually) that have simple white tablecloth with the hem looking like it's been cut to make spiderweb patterns, and a longer table presses to the wall with supplies - board games and mini-pumpkins from the store and arts and craft supplies and cat ear headbands…? there is one particular table that has a folded paper plaque, with a purple B-sama written on it.

a corner of the lobby has also been sectioned away by curtains, with a PHOTO BOOTH sign hanging from one of the drapes - inside one would find a polaroid camera tripod setup, facing the direction of a ~spooky~ black-curtain draped background with skeletons and storm clouds and pumpkins drawn onto the curtain with chalk. the sensitIV and Heart Soldier Senshi sections of the kitchen have been commandeered for all of the food prep, stacks and stacks of plates; the respective unit ovens have also been commandeered to keep certain desserts warm and naturally the two fridges have also been just completely taken over.

there is a decorative pumpkin outline from the end of the hotel lobby to make a path for those leaving the elevator and trying to go to the kitchen or outside without engaging with the Live; there's also a designated Chalk Outline path, presumably to indicate the path of traffic for … whatever is going on here.

to the center of the camera is not one, but two units worth of maids and butlers - sensitIV and Heart Soldier Senshi, with Lucifel and Primrose standing closer to the front. Aradia's also there…? The only one who's actually in her own unit aesthetic. ]

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since the Newcomer’s Primer was written and a lot has happened since then. We thought this would be a good time to not only update it, but overhaul it into something that might be helpful for everyone and not just newbies.

As you can see -- [ Hiryuu holds the book up to the camera. It’s massive. ] -- it’s significantly larger than the original booklet! This isn't meant to be read cover to cover but rather to serve as a reference guide to answer any questions that arise for newcomers, returners, and everyone in between.

We've divided it into three sections. The first section is like the original newbie guide, with basic information about what this place is and how it works. It goes into detail about daily life here, from games to Lives to information about the city and how to earn points and so on. It's front-loaded in order of urgency, so if a newbie has only five minutes of attention for reading, hopefully it will still prove useful to them.

Part two of the guide is a rundown of the bigger picture as we know it. It focuses primarily on subjects such as Hell, the hosts, graduations, corruptions, and some of the stranger, unplanned events beyond the production's original scope.

Part three is a timeline of events--games, major incidents, upgrades and holidays primarily. The games all include short "blurbs--"

--describing what they involved, so if someone ever mentions a game that happened before you got here, you can look it up if you want.

[ Now that the game is over, it's time for the members of Wild City who attended to come home and lick their metaphorical wounds.

It is also time to unwind with some nice, laid-back hotpot on this chilly evening. The fire-pit on the balcony has been outfitted with a stand to support a pot on, and a divided pot specifically for hotpot has been borrowed from the kitchen and filled with broth and to bubble away.

There are thinly sliced cuts of pork and beef, a selection of prawns and shrimp, sliced and chopped veggies and mushrooms, and udon noodles and whole eggs along with a variety of dipping sauces set out on trays for people to pick from. And someone has even seen fit to bring a selection of chilled teas and juices from the conbini! Truly, an ideal set up for a relaxing evening. ]

[ The clock strikes the hour, and if you're not already back in the sitting room, the next time you pass through a doorway you find yourself back there; night is falling, outside the windows, and the host in red and yellow is busy lighting the candles in the sconces while her sibling is once again lounging across the window seat—this time upside-down. ]

It's about time you got back. What did you make of your experiences, and those of your fellows? Your past informs your future—whether you want to embrace it or break free of it—and we expect great things from you.

I hope it helped you all know yourselves more. [their hat has, by this point, obviously fallen off their head to be currently on the floor.] And what’s the saying - that you can’t understand someone until you’ve walked in their shoes? Or, in this case, experienced their past? Close enough to walking in their shoes, isn’t it~?

[ When you enter the Game Tower, you find yourselves in the living room of an expansive, cozy estate house. Outside the windows, it seems to be autumn—the maple trees outside are fully orange—and there's a fire burning in the large fireplace. Across from where you entered, there's a large bay window, where two people are sitting. Well, one's sitting, reading a large hardcover book, and the other is really just lounging. ]

Hi~ Welcome to our game. [says the lounging one, who is dressed in violet and white, violet-embroidered haori over white blouse and equally flower-embroidered shorts, along with a cute hat. They don’t make any move to sit up.] We’ve worked really hard to give you this opportunity to know yourselves and each other more.

...sis, you need to put down the book! I know it’s a really good book, but come on. Unless you really want me to entertain them all by myself.


[ The reading one shuts her book with a snap; she wears a red and yellow patterned kimono with a brown hakama under a dark brown shawl embroidered with lantana flowers. She sighs. ] If they can't use what we give them and make something of that on their own, they're a lost cause, Sumire.

[ And with that, each of you suddenly find yourselves remembering new things about your lives—and then a moment later, you realize you've remembered something else as well. Except it's not something that happened to you. ]

[ The house is silent; you awaken in your starter rooms, with injuries healed and the gripping hold of possession released as though it were all a dream.

It wasn't though, was it? The scars that remain, whether physical or emotional, are proof of that. If you need more proof, well - when the elevator opens for you once more, to take you back down to ground level, you'll find you can carry whatever is on your person back down with you as souvenirs, although their effects don't carry over.

Once you take the elevator down, you'll find most everyone else there too - most everyone, anyway. Some are missing, and . . . well, the doors to the outside aren't opening to let anyone out, although non-participants may enter to fret over their loved ones.

Soon enough, once the last elevators go down, the doors will unlock and you'll be free to hurry home, as the last rays of the sun disappear behind the skyline. Night is coming once more. ]
