[As everyone is finally starting to get their bearings with the strings and what they mean, and maybe learning a little about what they do, the kiosk and their phones will sound with a new alert.]

It may not be all of them, but most of the familiar ones suddenly have new colors, and there may even be entirely new strings to complete strangers--not every ship makes sense! Time to work out these new relationships and show people what that's all about to have a shot at fixing it.]

I just worry about you. You're not very big or strong; if someone wanted to hurt you, I'm not sure you could defend yourself.

[ And she's not sure what she would do with herself if he got hurt, or worse. --But that's okay, because no one is ever going to hurt him on her watch. Ever. ]

I'd like to make a statement of intent.

[ she pulls her phone from her pants pocket and presses the LIVE button. Yes, she was trying not to scare him--but she needs to make sure that people are aware that he's under her protection. What better way to make sure everyone hears it than a Live? She'll just have to make it a monologue for it to work.

She steps forward and takes one of his hands in both of hers--and gets down on one knee. ]

To you, I am just your warrior. But to me... you are the sun around which I orbit. You are the compass that guides me home. You are the air that fills my lungs. Your eyes rival the tropical seas; no bird can outsing your voice. A world that you don't exist in is one that I have no need for.

I will protect you from any sleazy hanger-ons, yes. But--I intend to do much more than that. I will shield you from the things that make you sad. I will protect the people you love like they were your own smile. I will remove the refuse that obstructs your path. When you are too weak to walk or fly, I will carry you.

I will blind the eyes that turn at you with hate. Any hand that tries to harm you I will sever. The head that thinks to harm you will roll. If it pleases you, I will walk through broken glass, and if I anger you, may you beat me as you please. If you require a heart, I'll pluck mine from my own chest to give to you.

And if anyone means to take your life away from you, my sword and I will both break before they touch you.

[ Having said all that, she leans down and presses a chaste kiss to his knuckles. FRANKLY SPEAKING, it probably qualifies as more of an oath than a monologue. But she's not doing this for the points but for his own protection: no one would dare mess with him now. It was worth it--even if it scared him again. ]
