[ Takes a breath, then — lets it out again. Thank Venti for talking him out of putting this as terribly as possible because frankly he thinks he deserves what's coming. ]

...It was a game with only one win condition. 'Successfully' poison another team. Nothing in there about trying to get through it unpoisoned, just — poison someone else. Probably meant it wouldn't count if they took their antidotes. So... our options were to aim at a team I thought would take their antidotes, hoping they wouldn't have enough to go around, or — to aim at a team I thought wouldn't take them at all.

[ Beat. ]

—Probably doesn't help, but I thought you'd probably send out poison, too. Then we'd both get a win, the game would end immediately, and the winners would get cured.

[ ...More sardonically: ]

I also thought the poison would just kill us, so pep would be able to fix people even if they didn't win.

[ Smallest pause, before, ]

The biggest mistake was not talking to her about this ahead of time. We've known each other for months but we've never really talked game strategy. I'll... fix that. After I apologize.
