[You arrive to the game tower where today, the atmosphere seems to be quite s~p~o~o~k~y. Fog seems to cover the entire floor area and any visible area of the tower is covered by things like (fake) spiderwebs and also (fake) spiders hanging around in (fake) trees.

It would probably feel a little more spookier if it wasn't for the fact that music is blaring throughout the tower. Someone is a host today, but it's impossible to tell whom considering they're covered in a white sheet with holes cut out for eyes.

Until they talk anyway.]

I GOT A ★~★~PROMOTION~★~★

To host the greatest haunted house party that you can imagine!! But w-w-w-wait, haunted houses are s-scary! I don't wanna make you guys get too scared so we'll start small . . .

Small . . . tiny . . . miniscule . . .

It's still gonna be dangerous though!! Ghosts are PRETTY uncontrollable, ya know~? I've seen SAWoleen XVI, I know how it goes!!

[ he lets him lean on and wraps a arm around his arms, careful not to make sudden movements. He's trying to keep his cool but just like in the room, he's clearly upset ]

Good. I was worried you'd refuse to let SensitIV touch you.

[That gets a confused look.]

Why? I like Izanagi and Persephone.

[He tries to pet him though it’s a little messy. Even drunk he can tell he is agitated.]

I just assumed because neither I nor Cosmo trust them. But I won't deny I'd rather have you patched up as soon as possible.

[Wait. What. He didn’t trust them when Thancred or Noah were on the unit.

Wait. No. That was spite.

But anyway!]

Why?

Is it really that surprising? One of their abilities is opening scars that were healed up and who would know better where to hit that than someone who closed that wound?

[He shrugs.]

Everyone by now probably has a scar that can cause death. One wouldn’t even need the specific knowledge.

[There is a pause as wheels turn very slowly.]

That ability really is terrible.

Yes. Exactly. And I also just don't like counting on them. But I can trust Kaguya.

Maybe I should just go get her.

[He smiles. He likes Kaguya after all! This is a great idea.]

I can. Don’t move.

[Digging into Five’s pocket for his phone even though Emet has one of his own.]

[ He's the one that shouldn't move!! But he lets him, mostly because he doesn't want to risk having him move around more ]

You're a terrible drunk.

I’m an adorable drunk.

[He sends a text, but then gets distracted looking at pictures in his phone.]

[ He doesn't have the time to protest, because he sees him looking at the pictures and his face goes red immediately - guess what, it's full of pictures of emet. So many. Mostly when he's sleeping but sometimes even just normal pictures that he took while they were together, pretending to just be on his phone.

There are of course quite a few of Cosmo, Vergil, Caeli, his siblings — but Emet is like. Half his phone's memory right there. ]

—That's enough, give it back please.

[Oh. Oh.

He gives the phone back, wraps his arms around him and produces the most unguarded yet joyous smile on his face.]

[Or tries to say that as he switches from Ancient to English halfway through the phrase making it a bit garbled.]

[ It's even more devastating because of how genuine it is. He knows Emet loves him, that's never been in question, but to see him smile at him like that while he says it feels overwhelmingly nice. To the point that he doesn't even know how to react to it. ]

And I hate seeing you like this but I'm glad it can just get healed.

Your mortal vessels are really frail. It’s inconvenient.

[Don’t worry he’ll go right back to being sassy.]

It will be fine.

[And healing can be handwaved. Kaguya shows up. Or maybe Zhongli gets Venti. Or he grabs a hold of Persephone. But he won’t be a wooden pin cushion for much longer.]

[ The moment he's healed he's going to be hugging him and keeping him as close as possible because look, he's not done fussying, and if anything now it's time to be even more clingy now that he can ]

[He repeats is like a mantra trying to reassure him stroking his back.]

I am not going to be defeated by a chandelier.

[ he shifts, moving to kiss his cheek ]

[Getting his legs under him and trying to pick up Five.]

[ He feels like he should protest because Emet just got healed, but in the end he doesn't, and instead just helps him with that and wraps his arms around his neck ]

I could use a few drinks. I'm finding out I'm a little less mentally prepared to see damage to those I love than I expected.

But I don't want to get drunk.

You can carry me when we get back to the dorms.

[He leans his forehead against him as he starts the trek back.]

Perhaps with time I’ll prove over and over again I simply come back no worse for wear. Not that it makes it easier.

Yes, actually.

Let me fuss and take care of you when we’re back. We’ll start with a warm bath, and then a massage.
