Where: THE GAME TOWER
When: NOW!!!

[You arrive to the game tower where today, the atmosphere seems to be quite s~p~o~o~k~y. Fog seems to cover the entire floor area and any visible area of the tower is covered by things like (fake) spiderwebs and also (fake) spiders hanging around in (fake) trees.

It would probably feel a little more spookier if it wasn't for the fact that music is blaring throughout the tower. Someone is a host today, but it's impossible to tell whom considering they're covered in a white sheet with holes cut out for eyes.

Until they talk anyway.]

I GOT A ★~★~PROMOTION~★~★

To host the greatest haunted house party that you can imagine!! But w-w-w-wait, haunted houses are s-scary! I don't wanna make you guys get too scared so we'll start small . . .

Small . . . tiny . . . miniscule . . .

It's still gonna be dangerous though!! Ghosts are PRETTY uncontrollable, ya know~? I've seen SAWoleen XVI, I know how it goes!!

Oneesan-

[ Sniffling. Trying to pull himself together but failing miserably. ]

Uuh... I- I couldn't pull all of them out.

[ But apparently, Half of them get ejected at him anyway. ]

[ gonna yank him out of the way, into her arms ]

Onee-

[ He's surprised when she yanks him into her arms, eyes widening in his startled. Before the thud of the bodies hit the ground where he had just been standing. ]

[ . . . ]

Why... so carelessly.

[ Like they don't even matter. His hands curl into tight fists that shake at his side. ]

[ hugging him gently ]

Do you want to talk about what happened to them?

[ He chokes up, swallowing thickly before trying to open his mouth again. Try as he might, he can't still the warm tears that trail down his cheeks once more. ]

It's my fault-

[ A shaky breath, trembling. ]

All of them. Every single one of them-- they all died because they were trying to protect me.

[ rubbing his back gently ]

But wasn't that their choice? And if you had died too, all their efforts would have been for nothing.

But I understand why you feel guilty.

I'm not worth five different lives.

Isn't that subjective? That cousin of yours would think you're worth more than five hundred lives.

Even if you don't see your own value, you shouldn't frown on the sacrifices others made for you.

[ Wiping at his eyes, shaking his head. Kei-kun is family... that doesn't count. Naturally, he's worth the world to him too. But this- ]

It isn't that I don't value myself. [ Sniffle ] I just... [ Wiping at his eyes.] There was no reason-- They... they could have probably gotten away if they weren't so busy trying to hide me.

Even if you don't agree with someone's choices, you should respect them.

I just... I just feel so miserable! [ Of course, he has to respect their decisions. And the fact that they tried to protect him.

He scrubs the tears from his cheeks only for them to be replaced by new ones. ]

I wasn't able to do anything.

Rather than thinking of what you couldn't do, let's think of things you can do for them going forward, okay?

[ He nods and tries to wipe away the evidence of his tears, but when they continue to fall that's a hopeless endeavor. ]

I... I am sorry that you have to see me like this, oneesan. I-I'm usually so much more composed-

[ she sighs and keeps rubbing gentle circles into his back. ]

You needn't apologize. I'd rather have you let it all out.

[ He feels like such a child. The complete opposite of a knight right now. Especially in front of Yvette of all people. One of the very individuals he wants to appear most strong in front of. ]

Were you stuck inside the game, too?

[ she's deliberately not petting his head, to keep him from feeling like more of a child, focusing on holding him close ]

I managed to miss it, thankfully.
