Widespread murder is a crime against humanity. What they're doing is called propaganda. Even if there's true incidents, its not all. Because that's the thing about history. If you get to a 'simple' solution, you aren't learning it.

Good. If you just focus on the heavy, dire stuff, you're gonna go nuts. You need to live life for yourself sometimes, no matter how big the other stuff is.

Here's the thing though: some of those true incidents involve widespread murder.

And when Germany made a dictator who killed millions, we didn't nuke the country. Instead Germany is one of the best educators of 'hey, lets not let this happen ever again.' With education and shaming and nonlethal, but firm dealings for anyone who tries to say maybe that guy had a point. There are more people who idolize this guy outside of his country then in it.

Widespread murder happens sometimes. Someone goes crazy who has power and it happens. You know what happens if the solution is kill everyone with similar traits? Widespread murder and whoever is missed is likely to be both exceptionally dangerous and now encouraged to go psycho.

S, I don't know 'Germany', and honestly I don't know if it is at all equivalent with my situation, but as far as I know it didn't just stop at widespread murder and went up to pushing the world to the brink of ruin. The ghost even said it herself that they fucking earned it, and she was among the first to die! She hates them and wants for the world they built on that mountain of corpses to be scorched to ashes, and she still agrees that the Solars earned it.

And one of the worst things I've learnt is that you don't need to be crazy to do terrible things with that power! Sometimes all you need is to believe with all your good intentions and your blessed ideals that you're doing the right thing but then make a shitty decision, except now because you have so much power that your bad choices are gonna ruin a lot of people! Maybe, as you say, 'nonlethal but firm dealings' might keep one from committing an atrocity, but how is someone making the judgment call gonna know whether the Anathema they're sparing today won't end up massacring or enslaving innocents later? You got the stones to tell someone to be responsible for that? Do you think they'll consider sparing me when I'm a Solar and I've already got blood on my hands? Just 'cause I haven't done anything 'worse' than killing a couple of people?
