Can I ask what powers Five and Sativa have? Apart from high alcohol tolerance, apparently.

I don't think they'd mind if you knew? Five can jump through space and time. Sativa can communicate with the dead. There's more to both their powers, they're complex, but those are the truncated versions.

[rubs the back of his neck]

Yeah, somehow I'm the lightweight of the three of us, it's messed up.

My and Alexander's powers are closer to Sativa's, then... We can both perceive the flow of life force around us, including souls. In fact, Alexander once had to help free a trapped soul and send it on its way to the Underworld at my behest.

[That makes it sound like he was Alexander's boss, which is in fact the opposite of the truth, but language is flexible enough for him to get away with that phrasing.]

If it is any consolation, I too tend to be easily outdrunk by my friends. Five's made fun of my tolerance at one point, too.

How is that possible, you would think our size would be an asset in that arena...

Sativa did seem quite fun when I spoke with him. I might ask him eventually.

But it is frustrating, is it not? Perhaps it's our more open personalities that somehow outweigh the sheer size advantage. I'm pretty certain Five could outdrink me even in his 13 year old body. That's got to be wrong, hasn't it?

Well, I have several dorm upgrade ideas, and I've started working on making gifts for my friends--raw materials are not that expensive, but it piles up quickly if you use different ones.

And I do always need more points for memories. Alexander and Cosmo are a little tight-lipped when it comes to my past, saying I have to witness it all myself.

Mm, that sounds frustrating. Five and Sativa both encourage me to buy my own memories, but they'll also tell me what they know if I press them about it.

[He brightens up at the question, holds up a finger and digs into a pocket to extract a short, thin metal rod. He holds it up in demonstration.]

Anything made of metal! Jewelry is the obvious choice, but I've made a chess box before and I'll be working on a motorcycle for Lily.

[He concentrates, and the metal rod in his hand seems to melt... before taking up the shape of a tiny figurine of Mr. Pennycrumb. Unfortunately he doesn't know what Hardy likes yet :'( ]

Reuse and Recycle, one of our abilities, allows us to manipulate the shape of processed metal. If there's anything you'd like me to make, I'm at your service!

That's an unexpectedly pleasant use for a unit ability. Maybe I need to expand my thinking, I keep limiting powers as being important to combat or serious objectives.

I can't think of anything I need right now, but now I know who to call if I do.

I am on the opposite side, as it were - I've been struggling to think of how to adapt my unit abilities to combat! Then again, I do not know much about fighting in the first place, and our abilities are mainly meant for support and creation.

We'd be pretty screwed if everyone was built for combat so it's really a good thing.

WILD CITY mostly has animal based powers. Turning people into animals, taking on traits of our specific animal, and so on. Oh, we can run on walls and stuff with one power too.

[he fidgets for a second]

To be honest I haven't bought any of my abilities yet.

Well, Michael was quite insistent that we prove our unit's powers are "cool". That apparently mostly meant explosions and swords.

[He tilts his head curiously.]

Why haven't you bought any yet, if I may ask?

I didn't get much of a say in what animal I "picked" when I got here and the animal I ended up with is one that I have... complicated feelings about. Since most of the abilities have to do with said animal I've been... resistant.

If you see a giant sword buried in a street nearby, that was me. Michael had me turn a lamppost into a sword.

[Ah, though. Levity is (thankfully?) unaware of negative connotations people can ascribe to different animals, so he has no idea what Hardy could mean - apart from, possibly, getting injured by one.]

So... I got locked into a gorilla as my animal here. Ironically, back home when I almost died my evil father used an experimental treatment on me, which in turn healed me by giving me the arms and torso of a gorilla. I still have the skin and the scars here even though I'm more proportionally human.

It does not make you a monster. But it is an unwelcome change, forced upon you rather brutally, and it is natural that you would reject it. But I'm glad to hear you're feeling even a little better nowadays.
