FAQ
GENERAL FAQ for RULES
Yes and yes.
If memories are shared, how are they experienced?
Characters experiencing others' memories will feel/witness them as though they are living them, in the moment, just the same as the true recipient would have.
What sorts of memories can be experienced?
Only memories that your character has actually experienced may be witnessed. This does include both experiences within Imeeji and prior to their arrival.
When do status effects wear off?
Items' status effects end as soon as they are removed. Only the special items will result in effects that may be experienced post-game; these will only be felt if your character ends the game wearing them. These effects can last 1-3 IC days depending on personal preference.
What happens if we don't make it to the end of the board?
This is okay; winning/losing for scoring is not determined by completion of the board. Just make your turn-in based on where your character is at at the 4 hour mark.
What happens if I roll both the collar and the crown?
If you have one and then roll the other, put the one you had before back and wear the new item.
What happens if one character murders another?
If a character murders the other, as long as it's within the game rules (aka not cheating) the Host will not interfere. A character that is murdered during a session will be out of commission until the end of the session unless sIV / pep!pep! intervene, but they will be revived at the end of the session / game depending on needs.
Murderers will get an additional special surprise at the end of the game.
If someone steals an item from another player outside of landing on a green square, does that item count towards any individual's points?
Unless a character has been expressly given the command to steal the item from the board, the item will keep reappearing back on the proper owner's body!
What happens if I land on a purple square and I'm wearing the crown, headdress, or diadem?
Special items cannot be removed via the purple squares, only regular items.
Do doubling up on items count before you complete the unique set?
Yes, your character will still receive points for choosing to take five necklaces instead of trying to complete a set. However, one of the win conditions involves completing set(s), so do keep that in mind.
What happens when makeup is stolen? Is your character still wearing it? How does it work as an item?
The applicator item is stolen so the new person can wear it and the makeup itself will magically disappear from the body of the person it was stolen from.
Does the game end once someone reaches the finish square?
Depends on your group's preference; you can play till one or all make it to the finish square, or barring that when the time runs out.
If murders are happening, can people at other tables see it?
No. At the start of the game, magic curtains fall around tables preventing characters from seeing or hearing anything that happens beyond the curtains' perimeter. Only characters actually present at the table of an incident will know what's happening.
How are multiple sessions happening? When? What if your character is playing twice in one session?
TIMEY WIMEY MAGIC ABOUNDS. At the end of each session, Astrael winds a tiny time-dial that repeats those four hours again and again. Your character may experience a sense of deja vu, dizziness, or dream-like-ness as she 'resets' the room.
My character knows about some of the effects from the last time PPP ran / from an earlier session. How does that work out?
Please discuss OOCly within the group whether or not you all want the effects to remain a surprise. Astrael has not disclosed any of them on purpose. If everyone would like for their characters to know going in what things that are NOT new or changed do, you have my blessing. Otherwise, please assume that once the curtains drop and the timey-wimey magic begins, characters' memories will be affected for the duration of the games/sessions such that they don't remember what the specific pieces do.
GAMEBOARD / GAMEPLAY FAQ
This is up to each group. You could roll to determine order, use your sign ups, go alphabetically, whatever makes you all happy and makes things work the fastest for you.
How do we keep track of where we are?
Your game board is editable; you can import (copy+paste) a picture and size that down to function as your character's avatar piece to move around the board as you go.
What about rolling?
Imeeji has two different dicebots you can use. Your commands are either "!1d6" or ".roll1d6" You might find it easiest to have all of your rolls o in Dicebot to prevent clogging up game convo, but you can technically roll in any discord channel on the Imeeji server.
As far as threading goes, how should we do this?
You can do whatever works best for you. I've seen groups choose to either create a top level for each new round and then have your character make a new comment underneath that for their roll / effect (and other players can choose to comment on that) or just generate a new top level in player order and ping each other to advise when the next person can go (and have threads off of those). I definitely recommend either of these methods over trying to make one long giant chain that will spill, but you are free to do what you like.
Where can we talk stuff out since it's not a single-unit game?
Please feel free to utilize game-channel, game-channel-alternate, defensive-dynamite, offensive-dynamite, and monster-room for discussion. If there are not enough rooms for groups for convo, please let myself or a mod know and we'll see about making some temp channel(s) as needed.
