It's a specific kind of moving pictures. Some are made by recording people with a camera, but it's possible to draw all of the images in a movie too. An animated film is hand-drawn.

You make thousands of drawings, each one a little different from the last, and film them each in order. When you have put all of the images in the correct sequence, it creates an animated picture showing whatever movement you drew.
