You need more rivalries, Intensity. Your conflict with Maki and King seems to have been resolved and you tried to lessen the affects of Aries. No conflict leads to a boring show. For every action of resolution you create, you need to create an equal action of strife.

How much power does the audience have?

Perhaps audience was the wrong term to use. This place, the entire environment demands it.

This place needs a compelling story. And every good story has a good conflict for those to rise above. Without it, we become dull and boring and fade away.

Units were created to create that compelling story. To provide a unity and image to exert our will over this place, but that is only half the story. Those are simply the actors. The plot, the conflict, must exist for the story to continue.
