Who: The audience!1!! But realistically any idols hanging around the park today

When: 254 Afternoon


[ Talon's set himself up near some of the security cameras in the park today, rather intentionally it seems. He's picked out a prime location that gives him a magnificent backdrop of trees surrounding a carefully manicured green and fountain. He presses the live button and turns to face the cameras directly. ]

I know what you're thinking—a live where I ignore my fellow idols? I'll make time for them later. Today, I'm here to rile you up.

[ He flashes a bright smile, but there's seriousness in his tone. ]

I have spent a long time thinking about my purpose here. My purpose at home; in general. It has been difficult.

[ The smile fades completely, and he glances briefly down and then back up at the cameras with a more serious, somber expression. ]

At home I am a hero who thwarts crimes and stops terrorist plots, but I cannot simply solve every problem here. Not the way I could then. There is no singular enemy. I have been denied my tools; my support. I have been thrust into a world that is not my own, but...what I've seen of what your world leaves me homesick. Your cities and people are not so different from mine. I find that I still want to help, even though this is not my home.

[ That smile is back, sardonic and jaded ]

I've said it once or twice to my fellow idols, but I don't think that they understand. It doesn't mean it matters any less, and I know that all of you have to know that. You've seen my memories of my mother and how she raised me, the people that I've chosen to protect, the city I called home. You even know more about me than I do! At least until I re-take that memory of The Joker.

You know the one that I mean.

[ There's a flash of something darker in his eyes before he's moving on ]

And I know that you understand what I mean when I say that regardless of the circumstances that have brought me here, Hell reminds me of home. That I feel a connection with it. I know you believe me when I tell you that I want to help it, and all of you.

[ He steps closer to the cameras, gesturing emphatically ]

Don't believe me? My record is consistent. I know what fans are like, and I know there are those of you who have analyzed every conversation I've ever had. Look back into my exchanges with C and Glory. Silver and Intensity as well. I have always remained firm about my intentions even after everything I have been through here. I have never wavered or reconsidered my stance, and I have been clear about it.


Do you know what C would give you as a god? Do you trust in your Princes to protect each of you? Every single damned and demon regardless of allegiance? Think it over well before answering. How can you trust a leader who waged a war because he was friendzoned?

[ A disgusted scoff ]

Infuriating, right? A pointless and stupid war, with a pointless and stupid ending. A disgraceful waste that gained nothing but lost lives.

[ He pauses to take a grounding breath, giving himself a moment to even out and recover his composure and face the camera with earnest sincerity ]

And so, I want to propose an alternative. This series is the first time they have brought in off-world idols, is it not? We've clearly been brought here to shake things up. A new approach, like C's empty claims to godhood, for example.

But what I am offering is neither a claim to godhood or to the throne of Hell. I only offer you freedom from any more childish tyranny. Put your faith in me, and I will see that power returns to where it belongs—you.

So after today, when you consider what kind of world you want to live in and who you believe will help you get there, are you going to think of fools who make broken or vague promises, or someone who actually cares about you?

[ And….finally, finally he looks away from the camera to anyone who may have approached while he was giving his speech ]

And to the rest of you—if you truly think the Damned and other citizens of Hell aren't worth our consideration, then you can fight me.


[OOC: IT'S...an audience live?? Look Talon wanted to yell at the audience that they should support him instead of C or any actual demons, and so he did. Fight him about it!! ]
