[Starting around late morning, Pink drags one of the lobby side tables as well as a comfy chair over to the elevator landing, so that anyone going in or coming out has to pass by it. He has with him a simple cardboard ballot box that he dug up from pep!pep!'s polling supplies. It's got a clear pocket on the side that has a paper slid into it labeling it "QUESTIONS FOR MUKURO." He plops to a seat on the side table before calling for Media Attention, setting the box on his knees for the initial Live.]

Mornin', Idols!

Some of ya may recall recently hearing about Heart Soldier and Bad End working on getting points together ta go in on a chance ta speak with the esteemed Mukuro-san, one of the hosts for the events at the Game Tower! Weell, surprise~ AlcheME! seems ta have gotten there already and it won't be long before it's time for the first vidchat~! As a special favor ta B-kun, I'm holding a little preparation Live ta find out what kinds of questions people might have for Mukuro-san. Stop on by 'n submit a question! [wiggles the box before sliding directly into the chair, reaching down to bring up a stack of papers and a cup of pens, which he drops on the table for people to use. There's no electronic option today, unfortunately!]

Ooor if ya'd like ta avoid the cameras, you're welcome ta head up ta AlcheME!'s floor 'n leave your questions in their mailbox instead. I left plenty of papers 'n pens up there too. Looking forward to the results!

I would not have thought that killing ourselves would have been one of their goal posts. But I suppose it makes sense if they are fighting Heaven for our alleged souls.

But do help me figure out what this fucking means---

Apparently, Exael wants us to figure this out on our own.

I thought the ultimate prize was our souls. Keeping them from adding to Hell's ranks.

Do you think that's what this is really about? Some game of making sure the other children don't get to play with the toys?

From what I read, both sides can be extraordinarily petty. On the other hand, faith is supposed to strengthen the thing you believe in. Perhaps we are providing some sort of fuel to Heaven's side.

Except none of us actually fucking believe in Heaven's goodwill. Or if some do, they are in the very very small minority.

And if we did provide some sort of energy - why can't they just fucking say that up front?

Perhaps giving into their demands constitutes a type of faith. Faith that doing so will earn their favor and therefore an end to our suffering. Much like Yasuragi did when Sol was in jeopardy.

That game occurred just after the arrival of the new unit, correct?

Yes. But I believe that is unrelated.

Apparently new units are "scouted". But by who is still a mystery. There are too many other unknown factions outside of Heaven and Hell.

Lilith being one of them.

Oh she's a demon from Hell, all right. But not one under Azzy's employ.

In fact, she predates Azzy.

She is his rival?

"Lily is way older than him. They're not a package deal, but I guess it's not surprising she's lurking around."

Hmm, so they likely have different objectives. That also means it is highly possible Heaven has its own rivalries at play.

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

Exactly. But to exploit all that, the first thing we need to do is to identify and understand them.

[And that's going to be fucking tricky as hell]

[ Pulls it out to show him. It probably has like endless unanswered live alerts and whatnot ]

[Doesn't give a shit about that.

Goes to the text messages and sees if he still has the attachment from Exael]

[ Considering he never deletes anything ever, yes ]

Saves the number in his contacts as "Heaven's puppet" and tosses the phone back to Okami]

[ Catches the phone and checks the changes ]

Puppet? That was what she won for her time?

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

You take things too literally, Okami.

She graduated and now belongs to Heaven - for whatever reason I haven't yet pieced together. But as far as I can tell she's still a puppet, just like we are. And Mukuro. They just have longer strings.

I did not think you meant a literal one. Have you figured out why she agreed to this in the first place? What she gets out of it.

No. And until I solve her homework riddle, I doubt she'll be willing to answer a question like that.

Is that the one about what Heaven gets out of this?

[bluescreenwhitedragon]

Yes. She was very adamant about it.

Which is why I don't think it's going to be an easy answer.

[And then when they do figure it out, he figures they're all going to feel dumb as shit]
