Look upon the past and the future! This is my fortune telling! And maybe the other live we do also! Oh noooooo!

How is this less exciting than getting your palm read?

And speaking of getting your palm read---
Do you have a minute?
no subject
no subject
I have the designs ready. That's what's up?

[she easily falls in beside him, not particularly trying to be contrary (for once)]
no subject
[But cool, you're being led into the FiN dorms, and then into the FiN lab.
Can you say 90s nerd because this lab screams it. Info about the various games (divided nicely into Heaven and Hell) are tacked on the wall as well as this newly added map for Hell. There's also a life-sized Intensity doll and a furby neatly stacked in the corner.
But probably most relevant are the items on the desk. There are rough sketches of an arm and an eye - with notes and prices written in the margin]
no subject
...So this's where the magic happens?
no subject
[Unearthing the sketches with the arm out from underneath the rest of the mess (which just gets shoved to the floor).]
Care to see?
no subject
[comes up close, thumb hooked into her pocket]
Whaddya got for me?
no subject
* Base cost: 650 points
* Rocket-punch (with an intricate brand of wire curled just above the wrist near the palm) - 400 points
* Grappling Rope (with a widget located in the middle of the underside of the forearm) - 300 points
* Wrist crossbow (just what you expect that would be) - 1350 points
* Stealth knife (located at the elbow joint) - 250 points]
And anything else you'd like to request, of course.
no subject
[pushes up her glasses and peers closer, examining how everything might work together]
Guess it's all limited to the old tech available down here, right? No plasma cannons and pew-pew lasers?
[considers]
How long's the rope for the rocket punch or the grappling hook?
no subject
[Taps the notes for rocket punch]
The range on the rocket punch isn't great. Only about 2-3 meters depending.
The rope on the other hand, depending on the quality of it, I probably could get you 30 meters or so. More or better quality would cost more obviously.
no subject
[tachyon beams? dilithium crystals? she waves a hand, science is a mystery]
Anyways, thirty meters is a pretty good distance. But I guess that'd be a huge spool to walk around with all the time, huh...
[considers some more]
...So no matter what, 650 for just normal arm stuff, can hold things and not necessarily crush bones and whatever? And if I wanted a spare, I could get an extra so long as I spend the points?
no subject
But yes, 650 gets you one metallic arm with as much range of movement and dexterity as a human arm.
[Because he's literally just going to gadgeteer an arm and some metal together]
And I'll make as many of them as you request. With whatever modifications you request, provided you pay cost of materials or do a joint live with me as a fund-raiser.
no subject
[and surely arms + metal won't end up as some fma-type horror]
no subject
. . .
[Thinking about it]
Guess you'll have to buddy up with an AlcheMe! at all times.
no subject
Anyways... Lemme just do a normal one for now, I guess. The weapon ones are pretty badass, but kinda pricey when I think about how I can just spit swords out of my hands. Probably better to wait 'til I know I'm gonna need the range or power--or whenever you get laser or taser technology. The grappling hook would totally come in handy (nice one, me), but having to keep C around just so I can put on a shirt sounds like a hassle.
That's not gonna be a problem, is it?
[rather than even mock challenging, it comes out a little apologetic if anything]
no subject
Though I would caution that at some point you should consider getting an offensive ability that isn't dependent on what they sell in the shop. Considering how often they like to turn those off and all.
no subject
[
when not a monster, anyway]...You worried about some kind of invasion or something?
no subject
Just being overly cautious. One can never be too prepared.
no subject
Got a knife in my boot, so that's something.
Anyways, figure out the right armor, it won't matter what anybody else throws at you. So long as they're limited by what they can buy too, right?
