[ Today, the game tower opens onto a lush, flowering garden; an indeterminate amount of distance away, an antique-styled mansion sits in the background. And in the center, at a table, apparently having tea, are two figures that may or may not be familiar.

The first one looks up as everyone enters. ]

Oh, good, you're all here. It seems that this has been a bit of a theme, this season... and many of you have performed quite admirably. I've been quite impressed, in fact.

One more test, then; I have complete faith that it should be easy for you.

[She turns hers around so he can see too while she looks his over.]

I recognize a few of these from my card too... oh! What if I got my ears pierced?

[ ...That's a fun one! Lupine grins, broad and infectious. ]

[ He's pretty comfortable with his own piercing, it doesn't show all that much when he talks, but he's gonna jut the tip of his tongue out between his teeth so that she can see it now. ]

I got this one a while back. Best part is, sIV makes the healing process, like, instant.

--wow!! That's so cool!

[She's definitely impressed by the piercing. She gets the impression that had to hurt more than an ear, unless sIV had helped numb it too. But ear piercing? She can handle it, numbing or not!]

I hadn't even considered that... yeah! Why not! It sounds like fun~

[ A startled laugh, then his grin hitches up higher. Doesn't... really do things to be cool, but it's not like it's awful if she thinks so tsunnn. ]

Ha! Well, I definitely know where the parlor is, and I'd be happy to take you — but I think I know some people on sIV who're gonna tease me if I don't at least mention that they can also handle the piercing itself... I guess we'd go pick out earrings for you, then find a sIV and ask 'em to make room?

[ It's still a really weird idea to him, and he's squinting one eye shut trying to imagine it. ]

It would've made the whole thing totally painless, but...

[ Remembering how he'd specifically gotten his tongue pierced in a fit of reclaiming-bodily-autonomy-pique. But that's not a factor right now, and the last thing he wants to do is accidentally make her feel like she's somehow doing the opposite by filling out a BINGO square with cute earrings. ]

It's totally up to you, but I think I'd do the parlor again. [ A glance down at his card, and. Heh, he's actually got that square too, doesn't he? ...Might be fun to get 'em done together. ] I liked getting to look at all the options without feeling like I was locked in until it was done, though I guess after we get you healed up, you can just change 'em out as soon as you wanna.

[Besides, it feels more like an experience that way. And she doesn't want to make sIV work when they should also be out having fun playing the game.]

...there's also... something else I should do with you. There's something I gotta share-- even though I didn't really want to. Because I hate keeping things from you. I'm afraid. Because I know it'll probably make you worry more, but...

[It's a great thing her card is so full of worries and secrets because she's SO FULL OF THEM.]

[ oh man ] [ Well, Lupine's gaze turns immediately more intent and also sympathetic, and she'll definitely feel a bit of worry before he tries to tamp down on it. But there's also?? A lot of affection for her. Even some appreciation.

Also makes his tail go lashy, but maybe that'll be helpful in its own way. ]

[ Gently. ] [ He hops up to land on the leaf and offers her a hand. Since she's LiliS, she can probably stand on it without needing to be carried — and since she's also got all her abilities, she can definitely just get a leaf of her own if she'd rather.

But the leaf's big enough, and the fastest way to get space is vertically. ]

[Persi takes his hand and pulls herself up onto the leaf next to him because it's better together!!

[ up, up, and away! ] [ It doesn't take them long at all to clear the treetops and then the third story of nearby buildings, operating at twice as fast as he can run, so it's only a moment before he's murmuring, ]

Whenever you're ready.

[Persi looks around before pointing at the tops of one of the nearby uninhabited buildings.]


...let's stop on the roof here. I'll show you.

[ Rooftop landing! He does it gently, giving her time to hop off before he follows suit. ]

—You really don't have to, you know. I'm... I do wanna know, but. Only if you're sure you wanna tell me.

[She shakes her head.]

To show you though I'm gonna have to take my leggings off.

[He's family though so she really isn't bothered at all. But first she has to take off her boots.]

[ ...Frowning more. She's gonna get more concern through the bond, though he's trying not to let it slip into worry. Annnd his tail is lashing. ]

[Once her boots are off she takes a deep breath, nervous but determined to see this through. So she lifts her skirt and shoves down her leggings, stepping out of them.

From her thighs down there's definitely something majorly different. Her skin becomes a black, brittle and jagged rock-like surface with cracks running through it. Through the cracks, heat pulses; a bright yellow and orange substance swirls gently beneath the surface without spilling out.]

...after... that game... my legs-- well. They're like this now...

[Guilt is the primary emotion now. She can't help it.]

B-but they feel fine! Just... a little warm...

[ He watches, but man, the feelings coming off her are so much worse than the actual sight of her legs. Lupine shuts his eyes for a beat, then kneels down in front of her, his tail whisking quietly but audibly over the rooftop behind him. He's so angry, for those few seconds, at the production for doing this to her. It was only her second game. He made it almost two months with nothing. ]

[ But it passes, and he opens his eyes to looks up at her. The guilt sucks to feel, but he's grateful for the connection anyway. Grateful he can tell her legs don't hurt her.

Honestly? They look pretty cool.

[ And he does mean that, too. ]
