Another Live Sho
Who: Sho and The Active Scientist In You!
Where: By the lake in the park
When: Day 44, Morning
[ Good morning Imeeji! I hope you're ready to start your morning with a Live, because if you're not, well, this is happening anyway. This one kicks off with Sho standing next to a human-sized hamster ball that has been scienced a little, letting it roll around a bit for dramatic effect before clearing his throat. ]
Welcome to the Helpful Science Show with your charmingly cheerful host, the Helpful Scientist Sho!
For today's episode, we're taking a fun approach to the healthy side of the idol lifestyle, namely, exercise! Certain forms of exercise are more effective than others, that's a given, but an interesting experiment would be using the same exercise device in different ways. Orrr in this case, on different surfaces!
Our experiment today! Using our GBM machine here, with a little repurposing, is this a more effective device on land or on sea? How many more different ways are there to use this on land versus sea? Do you exercise different parts of your body depending on the surface you're on?! Science demands an answer!!
I will of course need some volunteers to enter said device and take it for a whirl~!

Totally safe!

Instead he stretches his arms out as wide as he can, presses himself up against it, bends his knees, and tries to lift it again with his whole body. Because it's so large, it's difficult to balance, so he winds up kind of rolling it up his chest at first, trying to get his legs under it. Keeping it in his arms is Difficult.]
Ok this is -- ngg -- it's not that heavy but it's ...very awkward.

You're doing great, almost there.

Whew! Horray! Once it's balanced, it's a lot easier to hold.

Bravo, the lift test is completed!
no subject
Ok enough of that.
[He caaarefully lowers it and lets it bounce gently onto the ground.]
My verdict is that it's not terribly heavy -- maybe only about twenty kilos? -- but because it's so difficult to hold and balance, lifting it is definitely a full-body workout.
