[ It's been a really, really long time since anyone's asked him to think of things from the mindset of a student of medicine. Long enough that he's a little surprised and long enough that he's a little worried he might not be able to give a satisfactory answer. ]
...I suppose the idealistic answer would be "yes", but... uhm, beneficence and non-maleficence aren't actually that simple in the real world. There's stuff like autonomy, and your own principles as a person besides being a doctor to consider. And I don't think I can tell anyone if it's right or wrong to help or don't help someone, in that case. All that's left is whether you can take responsibility for the consequences of your choices.
...Yes, I feel similarly. Which is why that memory disturbed me so greatly.
Helping someone who has caused harm to others... Who may well continue to harm others, and escape punishment because of your help... I can't justify that at all.
I know that someone told me they burned down a church, intentionally, and that I refused to call the police on them and invited them to return to my shop. But for motivation... I don't know.
...Lark has to wonder if perhaps this was one of those things where the person in question weren't sure about why they were doing what they did, even during the moment. ]
Unfortunately, that's how memories tend to go. You think everything's gonna be okay, then one day you buy a regain and it sucker punches you in the gut.
The brain is an amazing organ. It can imagine things far beyond its own experience. 'Tis only that it has a tendency to imagine the worst possible ways to fill in the blanks.

[Even if he is still a student, he has the mindset so it counts.]
You want to help people, yes? Where are the limits on that?

What do you mean by that?
