[ She tinkers with her phone for a second, looking for an orchestral accompaniment, then she stands up, draws a few quick notes and touches her tuning pegs to perfect the chord. She starts her phone to play the rest of the orchestra while she takes the solo, choosing a lovely piece that starts out quick and light and turns -- slower, but sweet and warm rather than wistful. ]

[ Her playing is technically perfect as it always is, but this is the first time she's felt anything other than odd about playing, and that makes it sound especially pleasing. When she's through, she tucks her violin back into its case and settles back down beside him, eager for his thoughts on her playing. ]

[As he promised - though in a different context - he puts his tea down to applaud wildly.]

A masterpiece. I feel as though my soul has been lightened just by hearing you.

[ She curls a hand over her mouth to hide her smile and flushes just a bit. Praise is nice, but it's a bit different from him, especially when all she wants is to help him feel lighter. ]

Good, that was the goal. [ Since his tea is down for a second, she leans over to nuzzle at his shoulder. ] And that's the first time I haven't felt a bit stuff when I'm playing, so thank you for that. I guess I just needed a reason.

I'm happy to be your audience at any time. [Nuzz back.] Though I don't know much about music in the technical sense, I can promise I'll always be an enthusiastic fan.

That's all a lady could want. I have Venti for the technical stuff if I need it, but he's just as enthusiastic really. [ As a god of music should be ]

[ She backs off of him so he can finish his tea ] I'd sing something as well, but I think my voice might be best saved for karaoke.

Ah, yes, I very much do look forward to that. Who else is coming?

Last time we set out some texts and it was all very informal. The last thing we want to do is make it a pressured situation. We had a nice turnout.

That does sound lovely. Just something casual to lift people's spirits.

I thought so. But certainly I'll be asking everyone I'm close with. Even if they don't sing, there's plenty of drinks and good company. And I'll do my best to be entertaining.

Well, I won't deny I have a bias towards you. But that doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Well... not everyone takes my moods in stride as well as you do. [ To say the absolute least. She and Hurricane especially struggle with this since he takes it very personally when she gets upset, but she really does like him and none of it is his fault. ]

You have a way of keeping me calm, it's quite incredible really. [ Definitely sorcery ]

I'll admit I'm difficult to ruffle. [Making today more noteworthy in how infrequently that happens.] If I can extend that to you, all the better.

You most definitely do. I'm not sure if it's my personality or my species or both, but I'm very -- hot blooded. [ That pause indicates that she's trying to be polite about it, she can be pretty intense sometimes. ]

[ Which is why she gets along best with people who either keep her on an even keel or understand her high temper on a deep level. ]

Passionate, I would say. Not always a bad thing.
