[Today the dining area in the lobby has been taken over by what seems to be party decor, though the decorations are fairly minimal. There's a cornucopia stuffed with fruit, some pumpkins and flint corn and various other fall decor. It isn't too out of control though because frankly, the whole rest of the space is taken up by the food. And there is a lot of food]

[There's turkey and pork loin and prime rib, and stuffed acorn squash for the vegetarians. Then come the sides: mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin; green bean casserole, roast root vegetables, and honey-glazed carrots. Plus the Thanksgiving traditionals: stuffing, sweet potato casserole, fresh-baked dinner rolls, and cranberry sauce]

[Dessert gets its own table, and it's laden down with apple pie, pumpkin pie, and both chocolate and pumpkin pudding. There are also drinks: a variety of conbini teas, juices, coffees, and sodas, as well as homemade apple cider]

[also, when you enter, there is a friendly mannequin holding a HAPPY TGIVING sign. But look out, as it seems to be motion activated (or someone’s pulling the strings) as it will randomly twitch and squawk when someone walks by. Festive!]

[The camera pans around the room, where a rep from every team is set up for their respective lives: Izanagi, Nemesis, Ren, Felicity, Alizaren, Yvette, Rye, Klaus, Eichi, C, and Serenity. After the camera makes the full circuit, Hurricane's voice speaks from off-screen:]

So, uh. We been here a while and I don't think we ever done nothing for Thanksgiving before? Anyways, if you don't got that one where you're from, it's a holiday where it's pretty much an excuse to hang out with people you like, eat a whole lot of food, and be glad for the stuff you got. So come on down and grab some dinner and a couple points if you got the time.

[Izanagi pops into the camera with a cheerful wave.]

It’s a good way to relax and unwind for some self-care, right? And if you’ve got fidgety hands, you can join in by making your very own work of art simply enough!

[He holds up a picture of - yup, that’s a hand turkey.]

Fortunately, the instructions for this cute li’l guy are super simple, so I’m sure anyone can make it easily enough!

[ Alizarin has been waiting several steps off to the perpendicular side of the table where the turkey is resting, staring with wide-eyed anticipation at all the food and waiting semi-patiently for her turn. Her formerly ridiculously long hair has been cropped into a chin-length bob that frames her face. ] Okay, I'm ready! [ she chirps, smiling with delight and waving to the rest of the assembled participants, glad she can be of use. ]

[ Holding a gleaming sharp carving knife in front of her, she takes a breath. Between one blink and the next, her expression shifts from plaint curves to sharp angles, red eyes brightening against her distinctly darker demeanor, the restlessness that so defines her entirely gone. She takes three running steps toward the table with remarkable speed, starting with a few flicker-quick slashes at the turkey before launching into a twisting flip (her skirt is well interfaced so no free show beyond a slightly flipped up hem, not that she'd especially care), slicing the bird three more times while in the air and landing gracefully on the opposite side of the table. Before she can fully settle she flicks the knife into the air and catches it underhand to deal the coup de grâce, her arm and the blade a blurred arc ending in a brutal stab that buries the knife to its handle in the turkey's midline. A live bird it would be dead five times over, but what's worth doing is worth overdoing, right ☆Zrael-fam? ]

[ Her job done, Alizarin's face returns to its guileless smile, entirely devoid of the intensity from a moment ago. Vampire queen - 1; turkey - 0 ]

So, uh. This is usually the part where I do some kinda speech and say how things're rough but everyone can pull through or whatever. Do the whole pep talk thing.

But, the thing is… Thanksgiving's about being grateful for what we got. And no one knows that better than you do. Y'know?

So this time… how bout you guys give the inspirational speeches? Grab a glass of cider and do a toast to whatever it is you got here that helps you get up every day. Let your important people know they're important to you. Might be kinda schmoopy, but hey. It's that kinda holiday.

[ in the future is now corner, there's a simple table with thanksgiving foods. however, some of them just look like gadgeteered mashups of foods?? combination foods??? and some of them look . . . normal? . . . maybe?????

there's also just. a lot of greens. like there are vegetables but there are also just flowers, washed and prepared like they're meant to be eaten.

Feasts always need a certain atmosphere or "vibe" as it were.

Honestly a viking feast would cover rile up too. Never a proper Viking feast without some kind of contest or fist fight breaking out between someone. Though that doesn't sound quite like the point of Thanksgiving.

And really, the biggest thing is be loud, be bold, and have a good time. Maybe pass out at the table. Try to keep up the party vibe everyone!

[The decorations themselves are not over the top but. There is one bit of trash that has been littered all over this party (excluding the food tables, those have been spared). And that? Is glitter. It will probably take months to be rid of all the tiny particles. And it even includes some larger, holiday-shaped specks to add to the festivity.

For the time being, this is a crime.

...even if the person responsible will surely put herself hard to work afterwards to make sure it's cleaned up as best as possible.]
