GHOST HUNT (the Prequel)

Where: THE GAME TOWER
When: NOW!!!

[You arrive to the game tower where today, the atmosphere seems to be quite s~p~o~o~k~y. Fog seems to cover the entire floor area and any visible area of the tower is covered by things like (fake) spiderwebs and also (fake) spiders hanging around in (fake) trees.

It would probably feel a little more spookier if it wasn't for the fact that music is blaring throughout the tower. Someone is a host today, but it's impossible to tell whom considering they're covered in a white sheet with holes cut out for eyes.

Until they talk anyway.]

I GOT A ★~★~PROMOTION~★~★

To host the greatest haunted house party that you can imagine!! But w-w-w-wait, haunted houses are s-scary! I don't wanna make you guys get too scared so we'll start small . . .

Small . . . tiny . . . miniscule . . .

It's still gonna be dangerous though!! Ghosts are PRETTY uncontrollable, ya know~? I've seen SAWoleen XVI, I know how it goes!!

Then... [ A sniffle and shaky breath, wiping at his eyes with the back of his hand. ] Then you can't understand what it's like to watch everyone else die in front of you while you remain protected and hidden.

I was useless to do anything...

[ He doesn't know what he could have hoped to do against a ghost. But it doesn't stop the way his stomach twists and feels sick remembering each thud as they fell one after another and hit the floor. ]

You are correct. I cannot understand what you are going through now or back in that room. Nor will I or anyone have the rights words to ease your pain.

But I do want you to know that the others and myself are very grateful that you did survive. And that there will able to protect you.

[ He's quiet for a brief moment, face hidden behind a hand, bangs tipped forward, unsure how to move forward or respond from there. He takes a bit of time to at least attempt to regulate his breathing. ]

I... I do not mean to sound ungrateful. I hope you don't believe me to be. I am not trying to tarnish their sacrifices or make light of their intentions or actions. It is just painful.

Might there be someone I can take you to. Or somewhere where you can feel enough ease to rest if but only for a short time.
