Crowd-Sourced Info Gathering for Fun and Profit

Who: Cobalt and YOU
Where: Outside pep's dorm
When: Day 400

[Live alert!

Cobalt is standing in front of the front door of the pep!pep! dorm. Beside him is a school desk that has been dragged out onto the landing, which has a stack of papers and some pens on it.]

Good morning! It's a beautiful day and the Compendium hasn't been updated in 234 days!

A ton of things have happened since the last version of this tome of dubious wisdom was first distributed. New hosts have appeared! Monsters attacked! A huge dog has taken up residence in the lobby! And other such events.

—So many events, in fact, it seems almost impossible for one person to know it all! So today I invite you, residents of Tokyo-F, to submit your interesting discoveries and adventures in order to document them in the first ever Second Edition of the Imeeji Compendium! The best way to prepare for the future is to learn from the past. For example:

Did you know that mysterious black orbs can really screw you up? If you see a strange orb, don't touch it! Make sure you tell your unitmates not to touch it, too! If you touch an orb, it may cling to you, causing such effects as hideous burns, feelings of plunging into an abyss, and brand new phobias! Any attempt to remove the orb may result in it multiplying and spreading to new people. Wow!

Now, isn't that great information to know?! This and more will hopefully be included in the Compendium, provided you can tell me all about it!

[He slaps the stack of forms next to him]

Here are some questionnaires about stuff you have experienced in your time here. Come get some points and also contribute to Tokyo-F's collective knowledge! If you have questions about anything, feel free to come in and ask, or take a look at the old Compendium. If you'd like to donate your info anonymously, you can stick the form in the dropbox!

Thanks, everybody! Have a lovely day!

[INFO PINK WOULD DISCUSS OR SUBMIT (I'm not filling form out in IC voice that's too much work):

Hosts
C announced Exael is dead in a Live where he ran bingo in her honor. Suspects she's been assassinated. They actually have a temperature-activated bomb C gave Pink in the dorm somewhere, possibly a freezer.

Deadzone/Heavenship
Would talk about the fountains and how that fixed up Moxie's leg corruption she got during Imps that she was hiding the whole time MOXIE. May suspect powers also get removed. Would NOT know corruptions can linger or what it actually feels like to get stuff erased.]

[Demon Invasion
Actually it's worryingly easy to open a summon to some hell abyss and for demons to pop out? Haha. They cannot be de-summoned by the same means as where Pink is from, which makes sense to him since they're in Hell already so you can't send a demon back to hell by tearing or disrupting the summoning circle. They can be shoved back through the summoning circle to some other part of Hell if you use it with that intent.]

[Post Imp Invasion
The group that fell into Liar Hell(?) through the portal were helped back by Exael as far as he's aware. Pink doesn't have a ton of details but Belhor was namedropped by that group in connection with technology. Belhor is another name for Belial where he's from but he's not sure if they refer to the same demon here, but seems likely considering the domain.

A demon that appears as a tall woman in a suit with a lion's mane and four eyes that are dripping with golden, waxy tears let Shiemi visit her workplace as long as she made tea. Seemed like a civil encounter.]

left is with vengenace hell
i saw talon in liar hell the one time i was there by mistake? i dont know how he got there. maybe someone took him there?

Demon Invasion:
i dont know anything special about this

The Dead Zone and What You Found There:
It wasnt the dead zone but you can get out the city by breaking the loop on the out skirts it doubles back on itself but resets a little further along every time. It takes hours though. Theres no warning either theres a wierd noise then you end up in this in between space with blocks and a door. if you go through the door you fall.
after that I saw a machine as large as a city, maybe bigger. i cant describe it very well but it was everywhere. it sounds crazy but it seems like it was making things real. Maybe it was powering the world? i dont know. After a bit I fell back into Tokyo D. But I heard it again when we tried to escape in the post. I think it might be everywhere, we just cant see it.
i wish i could forget i saw it.

Escape Rooms:
I was there for the thing at Christmas with Dva. There was a monster in there that attacked with songs.
ive seen the orb things twice in the escape room now. the singing christmas demon used them too. DEFINITELY DO NOT TOUCH THEM

Games:
these still suck

Corrections:
they run the program like a normal idol agency i guess??? i broke into one in tokyo d it wasn't very interesting though. people sit in offices and things and have meetings and then they try to kill us all again
Guy demon is 'unavailable for any escalations' and had his position changed? he might be in trouble for something
i don't think they knew about the gate thing in the park until it happened
you cant get out through the post box even if youre shrunk down they can find you. they give you visions of being tortured and shit and then they kick you out its another dead end

Photos:
lost my phone and all the good photos in lair hell. sorry

Extra Credit (Miscellaneous):
its up to you guys if you put this in i guess but its a REALLY BAD IDEA to go out the city that way?
theres no way back unless you can meet someone else out there who can get you home, you can get stuck & then its a toss up if youll get brought back or not. i had to wait till they brought the guests back and it was a bad time. So nobody should try and do it again unless you know how youre going to get back or its really important you get to tokyo D.

SURVEY RESPONSE: Amaranth

[personal profile] worthathousand 2021-09-04 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Preferred Name: Amaranth
Profile name (if different): Demeter
Unit: avante en garde

Hosts and Other Notable Characters:
Hosts I am aware of:
  • Exael (missing and presumed dead)
    • I have reason to believe that Paloma, formerly of BARiTONES, was responsible for Exael’s death—apparently by shooting her with a mundane firewand. [ furi: gun. she means gun. ]
  • Mukuro (only from the Compendium)
  • NafunAI
  • ❤️ (is she truly a host?)
  • Hadassah
  • Teller of Tales
  • The Sheep
  • The Sheep’s Sister
  • Our former peers:
    • Yasuragi and Loki (typically together)
    • Ruby Sour (typically in her Luna form, also known as Kir Royale)

    Notable Non-Hosts:
    • Lilith: "Mother of Monsters." Sometimes travels Vengeance’s domain in the form of an insect swarm. Values politeness and respects confidence; amenable to flirtation, but difficult to truly win over. Has sufficient power to be alerted when her name is spoken aloud.
    • Ramiel: Head of Liars' military/security (the distinction is unclear to me). Was once one of the heavenly spirits called "angels." Now also known as Furfur.

My most noteworthy contribution to new information does not regard the hosts themselves, but rather the individuals I encountered while on a transfer program misadventure. All answer to head of Liars military security Ramiel. These are:

    • Cam: Likely not their full name, given what we know of "angelic" name schemes. "Badge 357" within Liar faction forces. Recognizable by white-glowing hair in a practical style such as a tight bun. When channeling power, white glow extends to entire body.
      • Threat level: Unknown; assumed to be high.
      • Abilities: Unknown, but suspected to have the ability to perfect the quality of whatever they hold. Will call for reinforcements when sufficiently threatened.
      • Recommended tactics: Attempt to disable the black communications box [furi: handheld radio] used to contact reinforcements.
      • Notable details: Cam is a former angel who did not "fall" but rather chose to join the Liars out of dissatisfaction with the former chief god in heaven (typically referred to simply as "God"). Believes that the Liars will achieve a new heaven that is attainable to all. Thoughtful and deliberate in their principles, but unashamed to use dishonorable tactics in combat in the interest of practicality.

    • (Name unknown): A woman with large, white-feathered wings.
      • Threat level: Very High
      • Abilities: Sorceress employing debilitating sound. May snap her fingers to create a ringing sound with an effect similar to Kydoimos Din, but more lasting. Her song can freeze the target in place entirely. She is either able to choose who her sorcery affects, or else provide her allies with protection from it.
      • Recommended tactics: If not on LiliS (with access to Cut-Tongue Sparrow), carry earplugs when traveling through Liars territory.

    • Simon: Former idol who presumably defected to the Liars after graduation. Recognizable by the glowing markings that constantly shift beneath his skin. When injured, also has glowing blood.
      • Threat level: Medium-Low
      • Abilities: able to "pull" the glowing markings out from himself and employ them as multiple whips, seemingly formed from pure glowing Essence or light. Immune to disarm attempts, as the whips are extensions of his body.
      • Recommended tactics: Employ standard tactics against whip users (that is: either remain outside their range, or close in too tightly for the whip to be effective), but with extra attention given to the ability to summon additional whips.

    Demon Invasion:
    • The most dangerous part of most demons for the experienced combatant is not the execution but its aftermath: Some have tarry blood which sticks to any surface and burns like acid. LiliS' Juniper Tree can prevent injury from the blood, but not remove it entirely.
      • Recommended tactics: Carry a source of fire to burn away the demon blood. (Healing supplies or abilities will be required to treat the resultant burns.)
    • Some demons are capable of exhaling breath that turns the air around them to poison, causing internal bleeding if inhaled.
      • Recommended tactics: Melee-range fighters must remain aware and have a plan to disengage immediately. Cloth masks tied over the mouth may be worth experimenting with.

The Dead Zone and What You Found There: The Dead Zone may have the ability to nullify corruptions if and only if they have not fully set in, so to speak. When I saw myself beginning to change due to the effects of my injuries from fighting in the demon invasion, I traveled there with all haste, and succeeded in avoiding hell’s markings. (( OOC note: In practice, this will only ever work for optional corruptions. ))
However, this is a risky tactic: I succumbed to my injuries, and would have been stranded in the Dead Zone were I unaccompanied by an ally.

Escape Rooms: In the quest to restore the hotel lobby, my own circle found great success by employing a slow, methodical approach. Aradia and Eirene realized that we had been tasked with combining a full rainbow of colors to create white (evidently this is how light works!). The resulting thaumaturgical concoction granted us the power of gods of frivolity (we knew this instinctively), and we all glowed with awakened party Essence. By using our Ultimate Party Sorcery, we were able to trivialize our encounter with NafunAI’s foe, the one-winged Rider.
As an additional note: Although we also encountered the glowing black orb(s), when Aradia and Chivalry Luminosity touched it, the orb’s color changed to white. I am not yet aware of any ill effects suffered from this, but plan to follow up with them as soon as possible.
    • Recommended tactics: Circles entering the Escape Room would do well to bring at least one scholar with them rather than relying solely on strength of arms. The scholar’s insight into the puzzles encountered may decide the course of battle.

Games: I have no special insight on this topic.

Corrections: ((OOC note: Amaranth is not familiar with Lantana and Sumire, but for OOC comfort reasons, I think it is important that the Compendium correctly identify Sumire’s pronouns as they/them.))

Photos: [ A photo of an apple—golden-yellow, with a sheen like true metallic gold. Something about its coloring is almost too vivid to be real. The photo is captioned: Apple from Yu-Shan heaven. Energizing and restorative when consumed, even as the smallest drop of juice. ]

    Extra Credit (Miscellaneous):
Firstly: Café Maidreamy is a pleasure house offering both food and companionship of the "cute" and "maid" styles sometimes seen in certain Lives. Notably, it is favored by a number of famous demons of both the Liar and Vengeance factions, such as our own RubyLuna. I suspect that Exael may have also been a patron, hiding herself by claiming to be a professional "impersonator."
The "maid" courtesans there are kind, and of an innocent and fairly unquestioning nature, but may have overheard valuable information in their work. They are fond of Imeeji idols—particularly sensitIV.

Secondly: My transfer program misadventure eventually found me within a district of Yu-Shan itself—that is, heaven.
I was brought there in a flash of brilliant light after praying to the River God of Tsubaki Province, my homeland. This was after Cam, in my encounter with them, seemed almost to dare me to prove that there exist alternatives to the selfish heaven the Liars would form from our tortured prayers.
For my prayer, I sang the traditional song offered each year to the River God by our shrine maiden, but added on an additional line about my desire to see Yu-Shan for myself.

Once in heaven, I found myself in front of a gate, with a tree-lined courtyard tiled in marble before me. At the edge of the courtyard was a tower, ascended via spiral staircase.
The air was heavy with the silence of true lifelessness, but there were ample signs that the courtyard had once been in regular use: Upon the stone slabs which served as tables were silver platters of fruit (still fresh) and various trinkets; the center of the courtyard was full of woven mats—as if set out for sitting or stretching—along with wooden weapons and shields, of the kind used for training. Fruit grew from the trees as well, and I can confirm that it is not only harmless but in fact highly beneficial: a single drop of juice restored my energy entirely.

I climbed the tower, and determined it to be for observation: from it, I could look down upon all of Tokyo-F. Perhaps there may have been a watchwoman here once, for there was also much high-quality but unused scroll paper to be found. The observation possible from the tower was itself empowered (perhaps by the nature of heaven?): if I but concentrated on specific individuals within Tokyo-F, they were able to hear my thoughts and words, and we could communicate between each other.

I ultimately returned to Tokyo-F by jumping from the tower. In general, I do not recommend this.

Hosts and Other Notable Characters:
Death outside areas under the jurisdiction of Tokyo-F, or in situations in which revival via the normal mechanisms (namely, pep!pep!'s abilities, but also the "generosity" of Hosts) results in being sent to the domain of the Lady of Death (referred to as such to avoid alerting her, as she is aware of when her name is spoken), as everyone is aware. While revival is possible from this point, it is undesirable for reasons already presented in the Compendium.

However, if one is unwilling or unable to pay this price, or otherwise the Lady of Death simply believes the energy spent reviving and returning the individual to Tokyo-F is worth more than the standard asking price, she will instead ask for payment in the form of a task, service, or role which serves her personal purposes but which I suspect do not align with the agendas of any of the other greater demons in this Hell. If the individual accepts, they are bound to accomplish what they have agreed to, and their servitude to the Lady of Death is marked with a collar in the form of thematic bone jewelry. For this reason, the existence of a way to cleanse "corruptions" (or a lack of desire to do so) and the mental fortitude to withstand torture do not make this method of revival one that is only marginally less convenient than revival via pep!pep!, as it constitutes enslavement of one's soul for a purpose they may not even agree with, especially considering that the Lady of Death's motives are not known at this time.

Demon Invasion:
I have nothing in particular to say about this, though I will note the "mysterious black orb" was present during one of the final battles against the imps, and "fucked you up" then as well.

In addition, replacing either of one's own eyes with an eye acquired from the imps grants the ability to "see" the desires of others. I learned this upon losing my own during the hunt while conveniently having a member of sensitIV on hand to replace it.

The Dead Zone and What You Found There:
Upon approaching the gate shortly after the opening of the hole in the sky, I leapt to what I assume to have been my death after hearing the call of oblivion in my mind. Before even hitting whatever solid ground may have existed I "experienced" a short moment of comforting lack of being before awakening in the Lady of Death's realm, hence my previously stated experience with her. I have not returned since.

Escape Rooms:
I understand that this is the name that the hunting grounds go by, and I can only confirm that they are indeed excellent hunting grounds. I have no other information on the matter.

Games:
I do not believe there is much more that can be said about how unpleasant these events are.

Corrections:
I have none.

Photos:
I was unfortunately barred from using my phone's image recording function during my visit with the Lady of Death, and I have otherwise been too busy engaged in combat in all other notable situations to

However, if anyone would like images depicting their loved ones, or would like to see the many in particular I have acquired of my dear Miaoshan, Luna (the presently existing facet of Luna specifically, who I am to understand once walked among you all as a fellow idol), or the Daughter of Luna (known also as Aradia of ☆ZRAEL), feel free to contact me. I pride myself on my ability to capture individuals during their moments of utmost joy and happiness, and if sharing these images brings others happiness I am more than glad to do so.

Extra Credit (Miscellaneous):
It is incredibly disconcerting that this place is able to summon one's past selves, and that it does so for the purposes of having them "guest star" alongside their future selves.

This is not particularly relevant information, but it is something I have wanted to express for quite some time.

Additionally, as a suggestion: in the future, it may be prudent to include a version of the questionnaire that does not require the respondent to read the questions and write their thoughts. Not all of us are literate, and even some of us that are can only read and write by exerting great effort to do so. Thank you.

Exael
Got her hands on an alleged heavenly artifact. Whether it actually is one, I don't think any of us can confirm, but it can do some special things so it's definitely an artifact of some power, at the very least.

B and C blew up her apartment after they were done searching through it.

Left
Contacted B and C and got them to Exael's apartment for them to basically loot. It sounds like he didn't want anything valuable or significant in her possession to fall into someone else's hands, though they may have just happened to the most convenient or inconspicuous ones to be left holding the bag, so to speak.

I'm pretty sure he didn't do it out of the goodness of his heart and there's probably some other purpose at play here, and he had enough sense to make sure he had plausible deniability if something were to go wrong during all that (wouldn't let B or C take any pictures of him). But at least for now he's dubiously friends with the two of them and sees a use for us?

NafunAI
I don't know if this is how it works for other people who get transferred off the show, but she personally came to pick me up on instructions from someone she called 'sysop', which I've been told is short for 'system operator'. So presumably her boss, or someone higher up the hierarchy of whoever's in charge of the show? Stuff happened, possibly more tedious, complicated and weird than I could reasonably put down in writing on a form here, the transfer did not go as planned and I got to spend some time stuck in a storage room in an 'office building' in Liar Hell talking to her through the door.

I think it may be literally impossible for her to directly violate whatever rules or procedures there may be in place? The storage room wasn't locked, but she explicitly said she could not enter anyway because she lacked authorization to enter the room. That said, she was also perfectly willing to wait outside the door for however long it took for us to have to inevitably leave, so that doesn't mean she can't try to work around them to a degree.

Given what happened above, and some of the comments she's made when acting as a host and the recent thing with the lobby, it's highly likely she's aligned with neither the Liar nor Vengeance factions, and is one of Bel's people. It would line up with what we know about the set apparently being on loan and maintained by the Transgressors. She seems more concerned with the upkeep of the city and the logistics of running the show. 'Host' may not be her official job title like how it apparently was for Exael, and it may just be part of her duties for the show's operation, but that's purely speculation on my part.

Demon Invasion:
[ it's blank ]

The Dead Zone and What You Found There:
K went on a wild adventure while he was exploring the outer limits of the city. He eventually managed to 'break out' of the so-called 'bubble' Tokyo-F is in through repeatedly going as far as he could, and landed...in whatever is outside there. He had a hard time explaining it, in part because I don't know how anyone is supposed to try to find words for something as surreal as what he went through, but I will share my own thoughts on it based on his account to me.

He landed in an empty 'space' with blocks and a door, and nothing else. After he entered the door, he started...falling, and saw a giant machine that he said felt 'more real than anything he had seen before', and after falling for what felt like a long time, he found himself in Liar Hell's city.

From this point on, it's just my conjecture, but...given what we know about the nature of hell, and how important 'image' is to sustain the existence and identities of people (and other beings?) here, the machine K saw could be the mechanism that lets the cities we've seen exist at all. Even during that maintenance that happened, I don't think any of us actually saw what was outside the city? And otherwise, the only way to travel between the cities was through some form of transport that was prepared to let people do so safely, as far as I know. K may have seen what was behind the curtain, so to speak. Perhaps this is information that someone on the Hell side of things could better test or confirm, though.

It also brings up the idea that while the 'looping bubble' was primarily meant to keep us in Tokyo-F, it may also serve to keep would-be interlopers and other undesirable things out. I don't think even the Production expected the gate thing in the park to have happened, presumably because as far as they knew it shouldn't have been possible.

Escape Rooms:
I went in there once with some of Alcheme for some exploration, and what we found was frankly just kind of weird but ultimately harmless.

Except for my pride. It didn't leave the escape room unscathed.

I also went along for the 'quest' for the lobby, but...

Okay, everything that happened there was just so weird [ it's even double-underlined for emphasis!! ] that I have no idea how I'm supposed to explain. I still can't believe it happened?

Games:
I feel like the house and/or the hotel deserve a special mention just for how genuinely mad things can get, or at least feel like. Perhaps it's just me, but I don't think any other game has come anywhere close to the feeling as though I was fraying and unravelling around the edges, even though I didn't succumb to whatever unnatural influences there were in there. It turns out you don't need ghosts or whatever to feel like you're losing your mind? Amazing.

Corrections:
[ It's blank ]

Photos:
[ None ]

Extra Credit (Miscellaneous):
I feel like this should be obvious, but there's going to be someone who will get bright, reckless ideas, so: if you decide to share information about how K managed to leave the city, there should be a very bright and colourful warning note about how risky it is. In the end, we can't say for sure the fact he ended up in Liar Hell was how it is supposed to work. It's entirely possible he simply got lucky and reached there when he could have been trapped in the 'space' between cities, and we can't say for certain that being exposed to whatever is out there won't be harmful to someone's integrity, but literally and metaphorically. To say nothing about the fact that unless you have a plan, it will likely be a one-way trip. K had a lot of trouble getting back, and most of it was out of his hands.

We Journeyed Into The Depths of the God of Frivolity's Phantasmagoric Estate...What We Saw in the Bathroom Made Us Inform the Authorities!

Article penned by:

Preferred Name: Chivalry Luminosity
Profile name (if different): TEN SCANDALOUS FACTS ABOUT THE RADIANT KNIGHT (NUMBER ONE WILL SURPRISE YOU!) (YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!)
Unit: future is now

Since there is space here, I would like to preface this recounting of our journey (+ associated requested information) with a suggestion that there be an effort to secure technical details regarding any unknown items, devices, or substances. I would also ask that future editions of the Compendium recommend sending samples to future is now for analysis and drafting of schematics, to be included with the Compendium so that they may be accessed by the public. There are a lot of really neat things I've heard about, and it's sad none of them have been recorded!

Hosts and Other Notable Characters:
I doubt that I know much more about this than anyone else, but Miss NafunAI seems very nice and helpful! If anyone has any information on the operation of her mobile hardlight emission device, or has managed to figure out where in this city it is installed, please send me a text!

Demon Invasion:
I was not there for this, but it sounds like an amazing story! Who do I ask about it?

The Dead Zone and What You Found There:
This one, too!

Escape Rooms:
Here begins our tale: a surreal journey of light and glamour, of strange estates and even stranger beasts!

On the three-hundred-and-seventh day of Tokyo-F's existence, a young (Sankta? unsure; note to editor: clarify before publishing) named NafunAI informed us that the destruction of the lobby by those known as the Guest Stars broke the seal holding back what she described as a "highly destructive" sarkaz in the form of a "maladaptive algorithm". I am to understand that Tokyo-F is some sort of digital landscape or simulation (ref: Bell; future is now), and I implicitly understood the threat this presented even if I didn't quite understand what she is talking about. We were given a quest to locate and distract this entity before Tokyo-F experienced a framework collapse, "enmeshing our souls" in what I believe is the engine room of a landship, based on the sounds NafunAI emitted (not sure why this is something to be scared of? internment in engineering department of landship preferable to televised torture; nte: clarify before publishing).

Thus - we journeyed forth into the Escape Room, which itself seems to constitute a simulation within the simulation. We were sent to a "sims house" (ref: TOTAL⚓DISASTER; staff member), and at this point our large group found itself separated into multiple instances of the simulation. Harried, and separated from our fellows, the four of us remaining together formed a new squad with Miss Amaranth of avante en garde taking point! Miss Eirene acted as squad medic and operations advisor, and Miss Aradia as science officer. I myself served as our technical specialist, and with this well rounded team we began our exploration of this strange estate. We immediately noticed several oddities - despite the extravagance of this manor, there was not a single servant to be found. Notes describing the owner as a "God of Frivolity" seeking the "Ultimate Party Drink" (recipe included below; see "Extra Credit (Miscellaneous) #Ultimate Party Drink") and threatening NafunAI with "this pear" littered the home, giving us insight to the crumbling psyche of our target.

As we journeyed, we found a portal to the Wyld; an area beyond the bounds of reality which corrupts and degrades everything from within reality that is subject to it (ref: Amaranth; avante en garde). This portal was localized entirely within the confines of the estate's refrigeration unit, and I have reason to believe it was created by substandard file compression, due to the resemblance between these corruptive effects and image artifacts. The later appearance of our adversary would also seem to indicate that most of the problems in this place were a result of poor planning, a lack of technical expertise, shoddy programming, and lack of funding.

Here also in the kitchen we stumbled upon a bowl pear, hereby stylized as "This Pear", as it was the final component to the puzzle presented to us in this place (ref: The Rider; maladaptive algorithm) and therefore distinct from all other pears. I have saved a This Pear for further analysis to ascertain the differences between it and other pears which allow it to serve as a catalyst for what I shall henceforth call "the vaunted Frivolic arts", due to the majesty these arts possess. There were other items as well, obtained from the refrigerated portal (detailed below; see Extra Credit (Miscellaneous)).

After this we proceeded to the bathroom, where we were greeted by a vast plurality of "dolphin" (sea-dwelling mammalian entity distinct from terorrfish. ref: Aradia; ☆ZRAEL) statuettes. We did not know it at the time, but these statuettes possessed great power. Within the bath tub was a strange turquoise drink which smelled of delicious fruit, artisan soap, and large amounts of fur. Aradia performed the standard tests upon the drink, and came to a final conclusion.

To expound upon this, we must first travel elsewhere within this story - first to our arrival at the bar in the estate's foyer, where we found strange alchemical devices in the shape of mugs filled with a green substance and the first note that told us of the vaunted Frivolic arts. I had started to believe at this time that this all seemed narratively convenient (imagine, being told by your enemy via a conveniently placed note the puzzle you must solve to defeat them, near the basic building blocks required for said puzzle!), and I was eventually proven correct. Our journey through the estate fit the structure of a knight's quest, beginning with our call to action. My heart swelled with anticipation, though I did not speak up at the time so as to avoid seeming a fool if I was proven wrong.

When we traveled up the stairs in the foyer, we were barred from entry by an array of lasers which displayed an animated image of a hound playing a game in which it was thrown a ball - or perhaps I ought to say an orb - which it then retrieved and returned to its point of origin. Truly, a fantastic display! An omen, and foreshadowing besides. On conferring with Miss Eirene as to solutions to this conundrum, I used future is now's arts to disable the light projector. Miss Eirene praised me for this and I felt unbearably (NTE: UNECESSARY DETAIL ERASE BEFORE PUBLISHING) With that, we proceeded into the next room - The Laser Master's Training Chamber.

This, I knew, was the proof of my theory! This was the moment where we were to face ourselves, our inner traumas and fears and doubts, to overcome them and become all the stronger for it! Together as a squad we would defeat the challenges of the Laser Master, and complete this quest for the good of all Tokyo-F! ...However, Miss Amaranth, in testing the limits of the wall at the top of the stairs, had already defeated the challenge by destroying a mirror which she then entered to find a device which allowed us to erase the light which blinded us and kept us from finding the exit. Truly, her talent and intuition are beyond compare! Miss Eirene, Miss Aradia, and myself did complete our own challenges, but we did so after entering the room rather than before entering it as Miss Amaranth did. Still, we were all stronger and closer as a team for it, and upon entering the final room before our last challenge, we were rewarded with a symbol of Laser Mastery - a handheld version of the light projectors in the estate, which projected a colour seemingly based on the content of our respective characters. Also, it appears to be a taser? At I this told everyone my theory which they accepted and agreed with. Miss Amaranth then asked me for advice. I told her that this was our final moment to rest, to decide our plan going forward, and to gather and study everything we have learned about ourselves and the world around us.

And now we may return to the plan Miss Aradia presented - do you, dear reader, see the themes at play here? Frivolity, the mastery of light, the acceptance of one's self...these drinks were not drinks, but rather ingestible forms of light! Miss Aradia figured this out in the bathroom, and then later upon experimenting in the bar (using This Pear to give the drinks a dazzling glow), where she (with the assistance of Miss Eirene) explained the physics of light to Miss Amaranth. She believed that the solution to the puzzle was to combine light in such a way that we created a glowing white drink. When we reached the Game Room she reasoned that this definitely must be the true path to Laser Mastery, and thus the vaunted Frivolic arts. After some searching, we found the final colour we required upon a table full of what I suspect were forged trading cards of unknown origin. One depicted a large fire-based reptile of some sort, of colours I could not quite ascertain due to the poor quality of the card, yet nonetheless was sure was the rarest and most valuable card in the pile (this happened a lot - many things in this manor we simply became aware of, even if there was no reason for us to have known what they were before looking at them). This had the colour we would need to complete the puzzle.

Miss Aradia returned to the bar to finish her alchemistry (a combination of alchemy and chemistry. ref: myself; future is now), creating a blue-yellow colour which I had thought was not possible. We did not try this strange colour, and it was suggested that she attempt to use one of the colours we found within the fridge. It seemed the solution was to combine both primary and secondary colours, and then catalyze the reaction with a This Pear: once this was done we had finally obtained the Ultimate Party Drink. Miss Eirene was the first to drink it, suggesting to us that it was "very good". This was an understatement! This Ultimate Party Drink, I fear, is the most delicious drink I have ever imbibed. I live humbled knowing that I may never experience a drink as delicious ever again, since the parameters of its creation may be entirely impossible to achieve outside of this simulation. Alas!

Upon consuming the Ultimate Party Drink we knew that these were the true powers of Frivolity: the vaunted Frivolic arts. For this moment we achieved divinity; or at least, we knew that we did in the same way that I knew that lizard was the rarest of rare cards, more valuable than anything else in this world (odd; card is a component of ultimate party drink, obviously more valuable than card itself; nte: clarify before publishing). We were also imbued with the knowledge that while we possessed the vaunted Frivolic arts they could not be used until "the time is right".

Thus empowered we finally moved to the back yard of the estate, where we used our lasers to empower the pool, granting us each one dolphin statuette, with the power to summon said creature from whatever abyssal darkness it comes from. Chilling!

Doing so summoned the hound depicted earlier as well, who now lives in our hotel lobby. The hound is very cute! Miss Aradia and I attempted to play the game that was shown to us earlier with it, but the orb that it presented us (the mysterious black orb mentioned by Mr. Cobalt) simply stuck to our hands, harmlessly. Miss Eirene fired her laser at the now two orbs, turning them both from black to white. There were no ill effects from this, other than the blinding light always out of the corner of our eyes though this didn't quite matter as empowered with Frivolity as we were. That aside - constant emission of blinding radiant light is something altogether very familiar and comforting to me, so I myself was entirely unaffected.

The hound seemed disappointed in our inability to figure out how to throw the orbs for it, and wandered off. We believed that was the end of it, but then the owner of the estate, the maladaptive algorithm we became aware was known as the Rider, wielder of the legendary blade MASAMUNE, descended from the skies.

And he could not handle the weight of our Frivolic arts.

He attempted to change to his poorly rendered divine form, but we initiated the Ultimate Party Trick, a Frivolic art that created a radiant and dazzling display of light, sound, and colour that I am entirely unable to recreate with words. You truly had to have been there to experience it. The Rider suffered from a variety of ailments and was then deleted from existence. Their parting words were to tell us we were no "laser masters", but rather..."loser masters". Unfortunately, no mystical knowledge of this phrase lodged itself into my mind, so I still do not know what they meant by this.

In the end, there was no battle as we had anticipated. Miss Amaranth in particular seemed expressly disappointed by this, but I helped to cheer her up by praising her leadership in the encounter nonetheless! I believe this tactic worked very well. We then played with the hound and upon returning to the Escape Room shared the Ultimate Party Drink with others. And so...

With the mission accomplished,
and the safety of Tokyo-F and its inhabitants secured,
the four Gods of Frivolity retired their divinity,
and lived happily ever after.

The End.

Games:
I think they are very fun, except when people are hurt without consenting to the possibility! We ought to suggest the concept of consent forms to the producers - I don't believe Kazdel has any sort of robust industry-employee liability framework, due to all the wars, so they may find it helpful and it will benefit us as well!

While I do understand that there's no particular reason to be kind to those many of us see as captors, it bears mentioning that many of our fellow residents of this city and performers on this show do share sarkaz ancestry (or at least I have assumed so! if I am wrong, please let me know!) and therefore as a matter of adhering to non-discrimination policy (one should be drafted if it does not already exist) if not kindness to our fellow idols, we should avoid slurs like "devil" and "demon".

I have many detailed photographs of equipment I have stumbled upon in my journeys here, as well as blueprints I have drafted for things I have had the chance to disassemble! They will be attached to this survey.

[ I'm not doing this right now because I wrote enough to learn there's a character limit on replies but it's just in-depth descriptions of all the items from Lobbyquest and also some random stuff found in games. probably also she ran out of space like, after the first few. that's my excuse for not coming back to this later which I probably won't.

also, there's like a pile of attached sketches and blueprints and recipes for all of this stuff. please let horse tell you about machines, and also the ultimate party drink ]

This falls under multiple entries:

Hadassah ran the Flower game in a place that appeared to be a replica of the Heaven Garden. In that game, we were assigned flowers that were associated with our personalities or traits. The same flowers were marked on people following a venture into Heaven when we first gained access to it, and those marked with tattoos of their flowers were later called back to the dead zone along with some others. Those marked by flowers seem to have produced dreams involving a space that represented the heart, and the others called alongside them engaged with the dreams to solve or battle the manifestations of troubles or fears faced by whoever was the source of the dream.

When in Hadassah's replica of the Heaven Garden, I took an apple and kept it for myself. No matter how much time passed, it did not appear to rot or change. When Heaven itself became available, I took another apple, which similarly did not change or rot even when I kept it for over a month. When I later took a blind taste test of both apples, I found that the real heavenly one was crisp and energizing and the imitation did not taste of anything at all. It's my guess that Hadassah was attempting to recreate something she or someone above her had familiarity with but was unable to produce more than a surface-level imitation. However I don't have any further evidence to confirm it.

Hosts and Other Notable Characters:

P sure <3 is who we were thinking about as the Manager, and i'm p sure it's whoever the AI girl was calling naffy. From what I seen, she's the one me and Nem saw way back when during the grey plague, when we called her to try and figure out what was up with the city. She and the AI don't seem to get along too good. Might be something there to work with? Maybe she could help us out? We probly gotta suck up some, though, she seems pretty pissed we keep breaking the city. Maybe we could like have set ppl to take care of stuff when things go sideways?

Anyways, K had this wild adventure too, sounds like. Its his news and I don't wanna steal his thunder, so ask him about the trip he took if u wanna hear more, ok?

And maybe ask C what he heard about Exael, too. He hit like a total gold mine, but it'd be a dick move to tell if he didn't want me to say nothing, so hit him up if you ain't heard and he can decide if he wants to go public.

Oh yeah, and me and Nem and K shrunk down and tried to sneak out of the city in an envelope in the mail box a while back. We ended up getting grabbed and messed up some, so uh. 0/5 stars, don't recommend. We heard this sound like a big machine on the way out tho, and it felt more like. Real than here? If that makes sense. (gonna talk about this more in extra credit)

Also me and Nem met this mushroom demon, you probly heard about from Nem. Picture like... Mario mushroom people, with the mushroom head thing going on, but real creepy. She could only talk in poems or whatever, and she made mushrooms spell out words, and it was real hard to understand anything she was trying to say.

The Dead Zone and What You Found There:

Bath time in the holy water fountains gets rid of corruptions. Ain't exactly a walk in the park, though, and it wipes out any hell powers you got, so be ready to cough up $$$ if you go through with it and wanna replace em.

Getting caught in the flying geometry super sucks, also 0/5.

Escape Rooms:

That one AI girl said the house we were just in was like... really just a sims house, basically. She didnt know what that was at first, but when I asked if the one she was calling naffy was joking n explained the game, she said it could for real be considered a sims house (gonna talk about this more in extra credit too)

[The images show the interior of a decaying hotel, bubble-chic French Baroque architecture salt stained and half covered in vines and ferns and established greenery. Its sprawling beach patio opens straight to the sand and beyond that the ocean, though the promenade of graceful statues are now crumbling, and rather than cafe tables or lounge chairs, only moss and bioluminescent mushrooms venture over the once ornately tiled floor.]

I mean, like. It probly ain't the matrix matrix? But it's looking like a p solid theory, just saying. Super high tech VR maybe ain't outta line here

Known Players: NafunAI, Code [happy☆day]
Unknown Players: Code [TOTAL⚓DISASTER]; Code The Rider; Code The Hound

Description: A three-tiered building. Seemingly residential. No available bedrooms.
House layout:
  • Bottom tier:
    Entrance (Contains two stairways)
    ↑ f.E. Counter (Unexplored)

  • Middle tier (taken via stairway):
→ f.S. Room full of mirrors—Mirror room (contains mirrors; puzzle, notes below)

  • Top tier (taken via mirror stairway):
↸ f.M. Recreational room (contains: seating for multiple people; table with cards, photo incl.; game table) ⚠⚠ Caution: Fireplace emits the sound of the sea. Suspected to be connected to the ocean through spatial-manipulation Arts. ⚠⚠
↑ f.R. Balcony (contains: exitway to artificial pool of water)
Puzzles:
  • Locational, Mirror room: Mirrors contain Arts? reflections that move according their own will and ask the venturer to look into themself. Solutions include exuding sheer force of will, yelling, breaking the mirror. Prize includes [The Laser Mäster's Laser Eraser], function: erasing beams of light, currently untested post-expedition; [The Laser Mäster's Laser Taser], function: taser that emits a beam of light, currently untested post-expedition.
  • No location, Ultimate Party Drink: Several items were scattered around the domicile, all varying colors. Mixing all colors together created a white liquid meant for consumption(?). Purported to give unlimited power to the consumer. Seems to be deadly. Drinking it causes disintegration of the body.

Threats:
  • Code: The Rider
    • Physical appearance: Tall, bipedal. Winged (1). Possibly Liberi.
    • Goal: To create the Ultimate Party Drink
    • Threat level: High. Immediately hostile upon encounter, stabbing a member of the expedition upon entry.

  • Code: The Hound
    • Physical appearance: Large. Quadruped. Furry. Reminiscent of Perros.
    • Goal: Unknown
    • Threat level: Low. Friendly to strangers. Enjoys physical contact. Barked at me?

Conclusion: Besides the initial injury from the entrance of The Rider, no major injuries were sustained in the encounter. The Ultimate Party Drink adequately distracted The Rider and ultimately disintegrated after consuming The Ultimate Party Drink (see Puzzles). The Hound now lives in the Hotel Lobby.

[The door of the pep!pep! dorm has been propped open and Cobalt can found just inside, in the main room. He's far enough inside that cameras will not be able to pick up any discussion that may happen in here.

The room looks like a windowless classroom, with shoe cubbies on one side and a big chalkboard on the other. The large, blank wall at the back has been almost completely covered by horizontal strings that have been nailed to the wall, and hanging from the strings are photos clipped on with clothespins. The photos are of peps past and present, doing fun things or hanging out and so on. It's cute.

Some desks have been pushed together to make a small refreshment station. There are coffee and tea dispensers, plus a variety of cookies. Help yourself.]
