After calling Phoenix to come watch with him, H has settled in the lobby to play a memory. The one that plays turns out to be long and heavy and full of revelations. He's got a calm expression as it plays out, but there's a tension to his posture that just radiates anger.

Afterward, he takes a few slow, deep breaths before recovering his usual energetic attitude.]

When he calls out to his mother, in the other room, to ask her whether they've heard from his aunt recently, she doesn't reply.]

[Hello, Idols. Today, you'll see two memories back to back but they're not from the same people. Nope.

Looks like someone (*cough* Kuzuebiko *cough*) finally convinced Intensity to take a memory by making it a challenge to prove if memories were useful or not.

So here is Intensity's first memory - him being mega super extra opening a card game tournament to show off his latest technology.

The people in his memory are as extra as he is, damn.

The memory broadcast is in the dark of an underground stage, a bar after closing. It must be late at night, few of the drunks still lingering. Instead there's three people by the stage-- Kuzuebiko (of course), a blond with a manner both cordial and sinister, and a black-haired boy with heterochromia and apparent barely restrained rage

why should become clear as the guy with blond hair starts speaking with uh, hopefully metaphorical murder threats, and some chatter about idol units and hostages. Hm.

"Kagehira" takes the blond by his collar and makes as if to hit him, and gets told by Kuzuebiko three times to leave him alone. It appears as though he's going to consider giving into the threats for the sake of the hostages.

What does any of this have to do with being an idol. ]

MEMORY BROADCAST

[ A memory plays out on the screen. It's long, so the short explanation is:

• Sanguine, a pretty blonde girl, and a visual kei guy interact for a bit before getting into a slap fight with their Persona.
• They all pass out and end up talking to a guy in a butterfly mask that's like "Hey I'm Philemon, those are Persona, rumours are becoming reality, go-fight-win."
• They wake up, realize that wasn't just a dream, and decide to test the whole "rumours are becoming reality" thing by trying "The Joker Game," where you call your own cell phone and supposedly Joker will show up and grant your ideals.
• Pretty Blonde Girl and a couple of Visual Kei Guy's gang friends play the Joker Game! It works, and Joker appears— though he is a clown and not a sexy phantom thief.
• Except it turns out Joker is evil oops. The teens aren't fast enough in explaining their ideals and Visual Kei Guy's friends all get their ideals sucked out of them, turning them into Shadowmen— people without hopes or dreams who slowly fade into nothing as everyone they ever loved forgets them.
• Joker then gets into a fight with Sanguine, Pretty Blonde Girl, and Visual Kei Guy. The trio try to use their personas on Joker, but he's too strong and starts choking out Sanguine (by standing on Visual Kei Guy because he's shorter). He refers to Sanguine as "The Thief."
• When Joker realizes the trio doesn't know why he wants to kill them, he's pretty pissed. What's the point if they don't know why? So he flings an iris at Sanguine, tells him to remember so he can claim his revenge, and goes away.
• The trio decide they're going to fight and need weapons, so they're going to go pursue the rumour that the ramen shop sells weapons and leave. ]

[ If you go looking for the person behind the memory, you might have some difficulty— he's doing his best not to be easy to find. But there's a new, shiny motorcycle in front of the hospital, and the guy himself is sitting in a room in the far end of the first floor. He's got his phone in his hand, and he appears to be staring at it at first— until you realize that his eyes are unfocused and the screen is blank. ]

Aries Memory

[This memory features, a drunk Aries, at what appears to be a normal kitchen table albeit in the home of a fairly cluttered person. Papers and folders are shoved off to the side to make room for delivery udon and a bunch of bottles of cheap beer. Aries is apparently on his third, and the slightly older man with thick, round glasses who definitely looks like the uptight nerd he absolutely is, is only about half way down his own. Hard to say if it's because he chooses to valiently remain sober in the face of Aries' aggressive inebriation, or if he just doesn't like shitty beer.

Anyway, Aries' ranting, it sounds a lot like:

"He that bandaged bastard just fucking LIED to me! It's been six goddamn months!"

And

"I can't believe I got into YNU for that--"

And

"What the hell is wrong with him, going back to that goddamn lying manipulative piece of--"

And

"Tch! Who the hell even needs him, he's not worth the cost of this beer..."

[Anyway, that goes on for a while with the man in glasses nodding and making agreeable noises but remaining awkwardly uninvolved in the conversation, Aries appears to be too drunk to notice that his friend isn't really saying anything committal.

But it's fine because the tide turns very abruptly after about the fifth time Aries has said [Bleep] really isn't worth his time, and he gives the glasses man a sharp smile and leans over to the man's obvious uncertain discomfort.]

"Nevermind, there's someone here actually worth my energy. Hey, Ango, you know I'm not a highschool student anymore, right?"

[we don't get to see how that plays out though, as the memory ends]

[Three Memory]

[here is a nice memory with only a little bit of murder (click for manga version, or read below for the summary)

It features Three, aka Nagai, being apparently rescued from what is definitely a facility that was probably doing very bad things to him, judging from the way his entire body is covered in bandages and they have to make their escape over many corpses. The old guy, Sato, carries an automatic rifle and checks on Nagai to make sure he is okay, but other than being in a hurry to go, Nagai seems pretty unruffled by all the bodies.

He does however, disagree when Sato turns his gun on three unarmed men in medical scrubs, and after one is killed Nagai takes the gun from Sato, suggesting they just break their arms instead of killing them so they can't be threats. Sato tells Nagai that he is a 'failure' before trying to kill him, but Nagai opens fire instead. Sato stands with half a dozen bullets in his chest, promising furiously to kill Nagai for killing him. Nagai appears only faintly perturbed, and as Sato's body falls to the floor, something like black smoke seems to be rising out of it--

But the memory cuts off there]

[This is a memory of some guy dragging Maki out to meet another guy and do pushups with them? Maki kicks both their asses at it, but not before he lets him know how stupid she thinks this is and he is unnecessarily dramatic about how this is training to fight her enemy, which somehow convinces her to stay.

About halfway through the video playing on the screen, Maki actually stands up from her seat in the lobby to hiss at the screen.]

[ this broadcast from the timestamp specifically is just ... a montage ... of Oni kicking ass. in a variety of unique, exciting ways, bashing heads into guard posts, throwing street signs at people, slamming oranges into people's mouths, jamming nails into people's faces. honestly it's a miracle they all seem to be standing after it.


noteably -- like all of Oni's memories where he's fighting -- he's excited; his persona fighting seems way different than when he's just talking with people normally, like he actually lives for this.

it's all disconnected like it is actually a montage, with no real tie-through. Oni will obviously just remember it as bits and pieces.

Well that's one hell of a way to show how inventive I got with these.

Memory #4

[Full memory.

Angel's party seems to have escaped a prison?! Slot, the wolfdude, is flirting it up with one of the guards (a nice dragonlizard dude) cuz he's so charming swoon. During their escape, Juno finds a clown outfit and Angel puts it on to replace the prison stripes. The shoes squeak. Juno also asks Angel and Slot to help them learn how to charm people because apparently they're REALLY popular and good at appealing to people.

Three prison guards come to find them and were threatening, but Dusk and Slot both charm the guards into thinking they're there to entertain! And they proceed to dance together and in fact, they do entertain them. Squeak squeak. After all, she has an idol image!

Slot tries to get them to leave and get them water, but it looks like he used all of his charm on his new dragon boyfriend. He looks at Angel and asks her to help.

So: Dusk nods and trips iyaaaaa~n, crashing to the ground, and proceeds to making a sad face. "Ah . . . sorry for that embarrassing moment. We just wanted to entertain you all to the best of our abilities . . . "

There's an uproar of UWAAAH, she's so cute and they're so worried!!

"You were great!"
"Hey, hey, she needs water!"
"I can go get it!"

In this memory, we're just dropped at the start of a fight with absolutely no context. Izumu charges at a young man, later identified as "Hienma," who counters with a devastating punch to the heart and seemingly ends the match before it's even begun.

Against the man's expectations, however, Izumu survives the heart-stopping blow, and Izumu explains Hienma's miscalculation with the following: "My personality's been divided in two—divided into 'strength' and 'weakness.' I'm the one in charge of 'strength,' and my little sister is the one who takes care of 'weakness.' [...] It's just a coincidence that you weren't able to kill me—the division between my personalities is a little off right now. 'Strength' and 'weakness' have gotten all mixed up in an unpleasant way, and just by chance, I couldn't exert the amount of power I wanted to."

After they both exposit about their attacks in a truly anime fashion, Izumu unleashes his own ultimate move called "Eating One," an open-handed strike so destructive it completely obliterates half of Hienma's body.

As Hienma lays dying on the floor and Izumu watches with immense dissatisfaction, Hienma reveals to Izumu that there was another hidden enemy all along, and the memory cuts off when Izumu is gravely wounded from behind. ]

[In this memory, Mori is STRESSED OUT and wired and clearly overworking himself. He's pushing himself in class and staying up until 1am studying and insists on heading off by himself during training.

Taking everything on by himself does not work out, however, when he seems to have gained a stalker that keeps force-feeding him cheese, and sneaks onto his balcony to watch him sleeping, and leaves messages saying 'I know ☆' spelled out in cheese for him, Mori is more than a little freaked out about this!!

But then it all turns out fine because Aoyama is actually just a nerd who saw that Mori was struggling and was trying to empathise with him and encourage him not to take everything on alone. Mori is touched! The two become friends and Aoyama continues to throw fancy French food at him at every opportunity.


Watching that memory, Mori had seemed as freaked out as he was on the screen, but as it ends he's laughing.]

Ah, that was definitely a surprise.
