[ You're summoned to the Game Tower - or maybe you're not, maybe you're too far away to get there. In any case, there's not really much at the Game Tower for you to see - winners are highlighted on the television screens in the lobby, the elevators once more locked. There are a number of radio announcers' voices as the results go by and none of them are recognizable or even very easy to focus on with how dull they sound. You can catch some of this:

"I know, right!? They really did a 180 since the last game!!"

"It's crazy! Now, here are some fan favorites -- "

"CEO ☆ S2FPYME= on future is now for his AMAAAZING game with Jigsaw! He was so intense! That's why the fans named him Intensity, you know!!"

"I knoooow, right? Oooh my goooood, it was sooo good I couldn't stop watching! Okay, next up is -- "

"Speaking of pep!pep!, you know who I reaaaally liked? A Sleeping Knight and 😘 were just like, the cutest! But it was sooo funny too, like, LMAO, a spray bottle???"

"Hahaha, I totally get it though! Guys are pig disgusting! But I totally ship the two of them, they're so good together! I loved them in the last game too ♥"

"Now, last but not least - ! BAD END=DEAD END . . . "

"Aaaaah, no one's surprised by that, huh!? They're so steamy with their kisses! They're so crazy! But man, the stuff that Prisoner did with Warden - I mean, their names say it all, right!? Right!?"

-- the chatter goes on, completely unimportant and fizzing out once the relevant portions have been relayed. pep!pep!, BAD END=DEAD END, future is now, ☆ZRAEL, and Heart Soldier Senshi will find not 500, but 800 points deposited into their banks. Every other unit gets the standard 100.

There's nothing in the lobby but leaves and sprigs of leftover mistletoe. You might find a few stray mistletoe around the buildings too, but they'll start to disappear with time. ]

And if this is technically their first official date, it's certainly... something... that there's a dragon tagging along. But anyway.

When they get to the foyer, King pauses. With it being after nightfall, it's probably especially cold outside... ]

... Do you think you could put your powers to good use again?

[puzzlers]

[ at least it'll be memorable! ]

Huh, ...oh! of course. [ smiles and looks to blue-eyes. ] Meet us at the cafe, ok! [ since he's not going to be able to super speed her over there too and he's yet to get the get hype! ability. ]

[ he links arms with king and runs them over there, stopping just shy of the door. takes his arm back to grab ( and hold ) the door for him. ] After you!

[ He recovers much quicker from the ride this time, which is progress! ]

[ Stepping into the cafe. ]

[puzzlers]

[ beams! and follows king inside, though he'll be running back over to the door the moment blue-eyes arrives to let her inside. rejoining king he'll bump him gently, smile becoming more demure as he gazes up at what's available. ]

So, besides you, what's on the menu tonight?

[ He's also eyeing the menu... he still doesn't know what half this shit means... ]

How about something warm! I'm kind of hot chocolate-ed out, so maybe some tea? We can share a pot.

[ Giving him a very deadpan look. You're not fooling him. ]

... A pot of tea sounds fine.

[ stifles a chuckle and orders not just a pot of tea, but a couple of snacks too. brings them to table and takes a seat, resting his cheek against his hand as he gazes across at king. ]

[puzzlekeeper]

[ He takes the seat across from Yugi and offers him a raised eyebrow at the look. ]

Well, I'm glad you seem to be in a good mood.

[ Several days of kissing after several days of apocalypse might do that. ]

[puzzlers]

I don't see a point to focusing on anything bad, especially not when I'm feeling so good. [ though he could certainly think of a few things if king wanted to tread there. ]

Besides, [ drops his gaze to the table. ] I kind of still feel like I'm on cloud nine.

[puzzlekeeper]

[ Hard pass on any of those topics right now, honestly. ]

Good. Hold onto that feelings as long as you can.

[puzzlers]

I don’t think we could have this kind of relationship back home. Not in the same capacity, anyway. I’ll hold onto that and be forever thankful. It’s like my own little slice of heaven... in hell.

[puzzlekeeper]

Ah...

[ He grows a little more somber at that thought. ]

That's true, isn't it. Given our... situation. I guess I hadn't thought of it like that before.

[puzzlers]

It seemed like it. [ doesn’t want to dampen the mood by continuing this train of thought, so- ]

But look at us now! We can do anything and everything we like. [ including each other. ]

[puzzlekeeper]

Even something as simple as share a pot of tea.

[ In fact he's going to start pouring out their cups now that it's had time to steep some. ]

[puzzlers]

[ when king’s done pouring the tea yugi reaches across to lay a hand atop his. he hesitates at first, though his tone inevitably adopts a more serious edge. ]

I don’t want to go home if it means giving this up.

[puzzlekeeper]

[ He goes very still, eyes widening. ]

[ He closes his hands over Yugi's (the one not occupied, anyway). This tactic doesn't work on him, Yugi. ]

[ stills, his facade slowly but surely starting to crumble as he looks to king. ]

[ Bad. But also maybe good. ]
