[ well that was WILD. or maybe not wild for people who decided to be smart and not try to bother monsters.

there are quite a few people milling about now from the game. careful, some of them are monsters. ]

[Cobalt steps back and begins growing larger, his shoulders bulging and expanding until he's too top-heavy to stand on two legs. He falls over on his hands, which are now paws, and every part of him expands in every direction as he continues to grow. Yellow, spotted fur ripples out over his body, and a whip lashes out of each cheek, the tips crackling with electricity. In less than a minute he resembles a gigantic leopard. The mane down the back of his neck stands on end as if charged with static.]

[Cobalt cannot speak, he is a coeurl.

He has no idea what Hurricane's comfort level is with all this so he is just gonna stand here casually for a minute and let Hurricane adjust, if he needs to.]

[Reaching up, cautiously, to touch a whisker...?]

[oh whoops, monster form has now finished installing instincts.exe.

He unthinkingly rubs his cheek into Hurricane's fingers. Yes touch it]

[Monster... scritches???]

[we_meet_again]

[That feels lovely! He rolls his head around under Hurricane's fingertips so he'll touch his gigantic forehead, and behind his ears, and his cheeks, and along his jaw.

He squinches his eyes shut, visibly content]

[Okay, monsters should not be actually cute.]

[Scritching continues???]

[we_meet_again]

[He steps a bit closer, putting his enormous happy cat head near Hurricane's shoulder. He might need two hands to fend him off, oh no]

[Guess he's got to use two hands, oh nooo.]

[we_meet_again]

[Once Hurricane gets both hands into his ample cheek and neck fluff, the quiet huffing and sighing noises he's been making until now are starting to turn into a deep rumble, like a truck idling nearby. His face is very happy.]

Oh my god, dude. Are you purring?

[we_meet_again]

[Cobalt fails a will save and can no longer resist. He starts grooming Hurricane's hair with a tongue the size of a dish towel, rumbling the whole time.]

Oh, gross. Cat tongue.

[He doesn't seem that bothered, though. He's still scritching.]

[we_meet_again]

[He alternates between licking and rubbing his enormous face against Hurricane's cheek for a minute, before he lets himself flop bonelessly onto the ground. He gives Hurricane a friendly and expectant look, like "c'mere"]

[Comes... here?]

[we_meet_again]

[Reaches out with his humongous cat arms and bundles Hurricane up into his chest like he's his kitten, then doubles down on grooming Hurricane's hair while purring thunderously.

His fur is thick and plush and soft]

[Squawks in surprise and struggles briefly, because that is a very large cat, and there are probably some very large teeth in there somewhere.]

[But no, this is just - grooming? Grooming and giant cat snuggles, apparently. After a beat or two of surprised silence, he huffs a laugh.]

Jeez. Guess some cat stuff's the same, face whips or no.

[we_meet_again]

[Once he's satisfied to the degree Hurricane's hair has been saturated in coeurl spit, he curls around him like a one-ton hairy armchair and puts his unreasonably large and heavy head in Hurricane's lap.]

You know my hair's like never gonna recover, right?

[Prodding it idly with one hand, but also... kind of relaxing, a little, honestly. He is still super weak to physical contact, and this sure is a very large, very fluffy, very warm cat.]

[we_meet_again]

[Curls around him a little more, gives a deep, long groan of contentment, and shuts his eyes. Sorry Hurricane, there is a cat in your lap. This is your life now.]

And I'm gonna, like. Have to get up eventually.

You know that's a thing too, right?

[Prods the leopard, gently, with a finger.]

[we_meet_again]

[A complaining moan in his deep cat voice. He lifts his head to rub his cheek against Hurricane's whole face.

"Eventually" is not "now." There will be time for sadness again soon; it's nice not to think about today for a few minutes.]

[Yeah... to be honest he is in fact still thinking about it. But being absolutely enveloped in something soft and warm is kind of nice, and after a couple of beats of silence, he sets his hand on the leopard's head, just kind of resting it there.]

[A hand on his head is good, but it would be even better if it were actually petting him, he thinks. After a few moments, he chuffs quietly in an attempt to encourage some attention.]
