serious beverages only
Who: Honey, Alala, and you
Where: hotel lobby
When: Day 500, evening

[Honey has commandeered a table near the entrance of the hotel, on which are set two jars, one labeled COFFEE and one labeled TEA. Plus a pile of cutlery to stick in the jar of your choice.]
...Lala-san would like to know whether the residents of Imeeji prefer tea or coffee.
[ alala had been sitting, but he’s swiftly on his feet and slamming both of his hands on the table, jostling all of the carefully curated poll supplies. ] Yeah, because it seems like the majority of you are choosing the wrong thing~ [ is he trying to stir shit, absolutely. ]
...I don't have any preferences myself.
…Though I do think this choice is a little restrictive, considering the number of ways there are to prepare either beverage.
[ he sits back down… for about half a second, but then he’s on his feet again, because, oh!, that reminds him!!! ] Ah, right, and regardless of which you choose let’s hear why. Honey brings up a good point. What made you choose tea or coffee? Tell us your favorite way to prepare it and maybe you’ll convince the opposition to switch.
...Even if you're not inclined to argue over your choice of drink, understanding Imeeji's preferences seems like an important thing to know for future cafe-type Lives.
…Being able to anticipate the needs of the clientele will allow the units hosting the cafe to prepare adequate supplies. As such, your cooperation in gathering that data is appreciated.
…Um… Lala-san, do you have anything else to say?
I should probably cast my own vote, huh, though I think I’ve made my stance pre~tty clear. [ an obnoxious laugh follows as he snatches a spoon and gives it a dramatic little twirl only to, finally, drop it into the coffee jar. ] Nothing, and I mean nothing, beats a caramel latte!

Coffee or Tea?

Nothing like peach tea with honey, or you can have sugar, cinnamon, and plenty of other additions. It can be light and sweet, or you can have dark tea and add milk if you want to. It's just more versatile!
[Also, he likes being a contrarian.]

Coffee is just as versatile IF NOT MORE SO. Pumpkin Spice Latte season is, like, a holiday all it's own. It might as well be second to Christmas at this point. I will admit that tea has some versatility, but coffee is just so much more rich and decadent, ~and we have even transcended merely drinking it! We have starting arting our beloved cappuccinos and lattes!

Jeez, finally we’re discussing something important. I don’t know what’s up with everyone’s tea obsession but yes, coffe is obviously better.
And while we’re on this topic, If one more person offers me tea for whatever reason, I’m going to go on a goddamn murder spree.
no subject
...Wouldn't politely declining the tea be more acceptable? And less likely to result in loss of life.

COUNTER-LIVE: BOOZE
I vote for telling coffee and tea to go fuck themselves.
Re: COUNTER-LIVE: BOOZE
But, yeah, fine, as long as booze beats tea I'll allow this.

It is also a reflection of each region's culture. While my home preferred more delicately flavored teas, our neighbor served theirs rich and dark and with sugar and cream. Another region sweetened with jam. Even this production has it's own unique spin on teas with its seasonal themes and colorful presentations.
I believe the same could be said of coffee as that was the preferred drink of another nation. So should we not spend our time enjoying each other's unique interest in beverages? Perhaps we would discover a little more about ourselves and those who would lovingly craft such a drink for us to enjoy.

....... Well. I do not think it fair to say I prefer tea over coffee, as I have not truly had enough coffee to judge. Even now, I cannot recall the flavor.
[He does end up throwing in with Valor's BOOZE though.]

I guess that means I'm just going to have to make you the best damn coffee drink ever. I'm going to bring you over to the dark roast side.

There are many health benefits to both. Though the amount of caffeine in coffee is more likely to cause a problem then tea might, and the variety of teas allow for more versatility in helping minor ailments.
I believe tea would have an edge.
no subject
...However, I believe the versatility you're referring to is mainly due to herbal teas.
...That is, drinks which are not made using leaves from the plant called Camellia sinensis.
...So I'm not sure if those actually count as 'tea' even though they are commonly referred to as such.
