Lupine's dressed appropriately (if there's one thing outfit #9 and HSS in general is really great for, it's exercise), passing through the living room with his phone out, when he notices a couple of things kind of simultaneously.

Like the big 'TV' being on and angry about a missing position color.

Like those soft sounds.

He pauses, then offers up a bemused smile to the room at large. ]

You can come on out, I promise we're not as scary as we look.

[Another teammate found! She's getting good at this--!! Even if her stealth skills might need some work yet. Literally jumping out into the room from hiding, Emu tackle-hugs him.]

--oh no! I don't think you're scary looking!

[She shakes her head emphatically.]

[ bwa ] [ okay, he absolutely catches her, but the same way he'd reflexively catch a softball thrown at him ]

[Is it a normal greeting? She doesn't know. But it feels natural. Although it feels like there's something missing... she just doesn't know what.]

[ Well, he's going to take this opportunity to very gently extricate himself from her embrace and turn her to face the 'TV'. ]

[ Releasing her! ]

Not much of a name, right? Probably makes sense that I started out calling myself 'Wolf'. When Tenn first said I was 'breaking the theme', I actually blew him off.

Because — well — I didn't pick my profile name, so I wasn't the one who'd broken the theme.

[ Sort of a long pause. Lupine rubs the back of his neck. ]

It took someone else explaining that we don't actually have to make a name out of whatever junk they put in our profiles. We can name ourselves anything we like. If you want us to call you [ a glance at the flashing line ] 'Phoenix', we totally will.

—But, well. Flowers aren't so bad, right? And it's not like I was all that attached to 'Wolf'. When Eichi got transferred on my second day, I... asked him and Tenn and Emi — she used to be on LiliS, too — to help me pick a flower.

[ Beat. He still appreciates this, because he was absolutely offering them a chance to name him something like Daisy, and he'd been a little bit of a pain, and instead... ]

They went with one that still means 'wolf'.

[Peering at his profile--]

[It all starts to make sense as he explains his experience with his name.]

I think flowers are really cool! There are so many different shapes and colors-- each one is super unique. But it's even MORE exciting when you put a bunch of different kinds together! When you can see how they all fit together to make something even BETTER. I think that's really special. And pretty, too!

[Fists clenched eagerly!!]

So... I want one too. I wanna join your group!

[ Anyway, he'll move over to the 'TV' and do some more helpful pointing at things on its screen. ]

Like I said, this one's me. As you can see, my color here's black, although... well, that's not a big part of my outfit right now, but this is actually an outfit from a different unit's section of the department store. We can go over how that works later.

I picked black when I was new for a lot of reasons — thinking it'd go with anything, that it'd be easy to keep looking okay... but I've got a couple memories back now, and I wore a lot of black back home, too, so maybe it also just felt right.

...That's amazing-- I wonder if I can figure out what color I liked to wear best too.

[She looks at the selection screen-- at all the colors. She squints, nose wrinkled in deep concentration.]

Hmm.... mmm...

[Her eyes do immediately go to the brighter colors. But she goes back and forth a lot... before finally landing on a vivid orange one.]

Maybe... this one?

[ ...Boy, they sure did wind up with a lot of dark colors, didn't they. Lupine blinks, then turns a smile on her. ]

If you like it, it's perfect.

[ Beat. ]

And you probably can — as you buy memories back, you'll start picking up on things. Uh... that part's gonna be a bit of a long story, but I'll tell you everything I can?

I do like it. And... I think it'll look nice with the green we already have.

[Because making sure they look good together is important too.]

Oh yeah-- but it'll be a while before I can do anything like that, won't it? I don't have any money and I don't remember anything about a salary either...
