How do Tenshouin and W deal with these at all? Hnng.

He's just arrived back from retrieving the cake that he had specially made by a friend. ]

Ah... that is much better. I am simply not accustomed to them yet. Finding things to wear is difficult enough as it is. Let alone tossing something on that doesn't quite accommodate for them.

. . . Unfortunately. I was punished for not pleasing my fans enough, in particular after many were devoured. And as a result, not only did I almost cease to exist, I was inflicted with all of these.

[ Lifting a hand up toward the ears that go flat upon his head. ]

They are called corruptions.

It is. Though I have never gone myself. There is a method of climbing up from one of the parks. Though you might get literally thrown out, from what I have heard.

I haven't been to that park in a while, so I cannot be sure if there is now? I simply know that there are many who have gone up in the past.

Well... I don't have much reason to go right now, but if you ever decide to investigate to relieve your corruption burdens, I'd be willing to lend a hand.

[ The twitching is not appreciated, and he's just going to look at the ceiling for a moment, it's fine. A few seconds too long before he can say: ]

That frustrating senpai. While I absolutely admire Tenshouin-oniisama and desire to emulate him, he can be as slippery as an eel at times.

[ Shaking his head. No one escapes Kasa disapproval or lectures from time to time. ]

He gave me absolutely no warning at all, and it is not as though I remember anything from back home. So naturally, I had no way of knowing, especially when time here is strange, to begin with.

Not only that, but he is very clearly cheating regarding his age!

[ Shakes his head, while he resumes his struggle. ]

But I suppose when you have already passed on you can make your age whatever you want it to be. But he had best not get comfortable with the idea.

[ oh my god tsukasa ] [ Lupine muffles a laugh, almost tricked into eye contact. You know what, he's going to just. Pick up the cake, so that you can get your clothes sorted, and head on into the dorm. ]

It kind of sounds like you're planning on policing who can drink again.

[ It is appreciated. Once his hands are free he manages to pull his wings free of his jacket, stretching them out a moment, before settling in against him. ]

Not to worry. I shall not rain too much on someone's birthday. And even if I protest, no one will take it seriously, so it is a losing battle in the end. Today is oniisama's special day, and so while I want to complain a little because I do not believe in the passage of time here, I shall simply be happy for him.

Well, I'm sure he'll appreciate that, but...

You don't believe that time's passing at all, or you don't believe that four seasons make a year here?

Naturally, this is only my personal belief. I cannot speak from any sort of measure of certainty. It would be arrogant to claim otherwise.

[ He prefers dealing in facts. ]

I cannot even say that it is consistent between one person and the next, either. After all, we have witnessed all manner of strangeness in this place. But we are already aware that the number of days that have passed do not match up with the regular passage of time one might experience in a regular calendar year. At least, not the calendar system we use at home. Perhaps the production finds that by speeding up the seasons, it creates a more interesting television series for those who are watching us?

[ Mere speculation, since none of them can know with a measure of certainty. ]

But I know that if we have barely topped a year on this production, then it would be impossible for oniisama to actually have aged so much. But if we return to the problem of time, it is all a confusing mess, to begin with, isn't it?

For instance- when my cousin arrived with the extra units, like oniisama, he had already passed at home. But, we managed-- no. He managed to earn his life back through hard work and skill.

If he returned home after having already died, that would create an impossible scenario that would make him the focus of all social media, and at the center of the scientific world. He would be treated as little more than a strange specimen.

[ He shakes his head. ]

I believe that the producers can manipulate time, freeze the passage of it, and even rewind it to suit their needs. We often see this in the form of actual games they toss us into. What can feel like days or even weeks turns out to be little more than hours.

So in the end, the only reliable passage of time we have is by counting the days that pass while paying no heed to the seasons themselves.

I mean. We're from different planets, or universes, or both, so some of us are probably gonna have different ideas about how many days make up a year, but — yeah, I'm with you on 435 days being one year and some change.

[ Beat. ]

The rest of that... I don't know. [ Taps his bottom lip, thinking. ] I definitely think they can mess with our sense of how fast or slow time's passing, but that's kind of a pit with no bottom, you know? Once someone can make it feel like it's been a week when it's only been an hour, what's to stop them from doing that to us all the time? Who says counting the days that pass by is any more reliable than counting the seasons?

In the end, I cannot say for sure. It is simply the only thing to me that seems the most constant and reliable. As unfortunate as that is.
