[Ren has been feeling restless today and with everyone else buying memories, she decides perhaps she can spare the points for at least one of her own.

As it plays out, she's left sitting quietly and contemplating what it means.]

Hm. Maybe another one...?

[Her next memory only proves to be embarrassing because she lost her temper on a kid. Whoops?]

Yes, but I think sometimes I get carried away by it too.

Well, she's your sister. It's easy to lose perspective where family is concerned - for good and for ill.

[She suddenly feels really depressed, mostly because while they're talking about her family, her mother is roaming about without even knowing she has two daughters.]

I guess it's good to have that connection, even if it feels like it's nothing but a figment of my imagination these days.

[She leans forward. Covers Ren's hand with her own.]

It feels like your arm's been cut off, doesn't it?

I've been feeling like that for a while. Not just about my sister but... my mother has come and gone three times now. I just want her to be happy. I don't want to force anything onto her while she doesn't remember anything. I don't know what to do. If my father was here, what would he do? Even worse... would he forget me too?

[She takes Alisaie's hand and then impulsively leans in to kiss her. It hurts. She's lonely. She just wants to feel something.]

[She smiles as best she can, having already told herself that she would have to get through this eventually. She couldn't completely evade her forever.]

A little bit. Every time I get a memory like this, it just makes me miss her more, you know?

Mm... I'm sorry. It must be a double-edged sword. We all want to remember, but recalling how much loved ones are missed has to be painful all on its own.

[ She's sympathetic, her smile a little sad. ]

Right now, I can't remember anything. So it's difficult not to know what you miss. But I am sure I'll be in the same boat one of these days.

Mm. It seems my unit pays for all of its new members to get their abilities. Pretty nice, huh? I haven't taken any memories, though. I felt like it might be overstepping to reach into the unit bank too far.

Well, consider this my welcome to you. Our units work closely together as the two healer units.

[It's honestly really hard playing dumb like this. Is it lying when all she wants is her mother to be able to go at her own pace and remember on her own? It's really not so different to Kaname.]

Well, not yet. Mostly, I've been trying to figure out as much information about this place as I can. I should though. Just a little peek into the past.

Some things you end up learning could make you have more questions. I think its that way for everyone.

I can only imagine. Especially if it's just a sliver, huh. Imagine getting to the climax of a movie and it just cutting out! I'm sure that's got to be frustrating.

I only mean - sometimes bad memories can be a lot.

[She can think of a few off the top of her head - like her father pointing a gun at her or learning about her own death. She doesn't want that. She wants her to be happy, which is why she keeps that connection cut off, leaving only herself to ache like she has a phantom limb.]
