[ After a long, long, long night, you wake in the dead zone, having slept more deeply than you've ever slept before.

Perhaps more restfully than you've ever slept before, even—do you remember your dreams? Is it all coming back to you, now?

For certain dreamers, the flower markings have disappeared, though if you wake early enough you can catch them glowing bright before burning away painlessly. With that, it feels as though maybe a weight's been lifted off your shoulders—maybe you really needed that sleep.

For certain dreamers, you may find yourself waking up with something new—was that always in your hands? Where did you get that from? Do you remember?

And, for a certain few unlucky dreamers, you may find yourself waking with pain, wounds or scars that remind you that what happened last night was not entirely a dream.

But then, who could ever believe it was a dream anyway?

The sun shines bright; Heaven's chain shines brighter. In the distance, white clouds roll toward the city, threatening rain.

I did. Five had purchased most of the rest by then and I was curious.

He was there too, huh... That's good.

I encountered Jason and Vergil within Raven. Five and Alexander and Black within Vergil.

I saw Jason in Nero's... Shrike and Lily in Raven's. I didn't see anyone else in Vergil's. I just went around with him. But, I got there from Raven's, I think...

Ah... so they were connected. I found what looked like Raven's from within Vergil's. No surprise I suppose.

It's a little bit surprising. But who knows how this kind of thing works.

Well, they are of one soul are they not? That there is a connection makes sense to me. I wonder if Urizen were here if all three would be linked.

[rollplayinghouse]

It's not that it doesn't make sense, but I wouldn't necessarily have expected it. Maybe they started as the same, but they're different people now. There are people here who are literally the same person from alternate universes, and I don't know that there's been a connection like that in their hearts.

I've no contestation that they are now separate beings. But tis different to be the same soul from a parallel world, and the same soul from presumably the same world. With the same experiences and past until now.

Why is that different?

Hm. There are thirteen worlds connected to my own, each has a shard of a soul that originated in the source. These shards are, if you could collect them, all the same soul.

But their lives, forms, experiences, all differ from one another. Even if they happened to be similar across worlds they would not be the same person exactly. Living, experience, memories, emotions, all these change who one is, even when the soul is the same.

As you've said Raven and Vergil are different people even when they started as one.

But if you take Kohime and Sabre... if their timeliness were already different, even with similar instances, one could consider them already separate before they got here.

Obviously experience changes who someone is. But if they were the same and then diverged, isn't it just a matter of the amount of time they've had to be different?

Perhaps. Though with Vergil and Raven they literally split. I do not know the circumstances of others here, but is it not more paralell worlds and times, one soul in multiple dimensions or worlds, rather than one soul of the same world?

It seems like it's usually alternate timelines, yeah... I don't know what that means for "souls."

How do you know they're one soul of the same world? If both Raven and Vergil exist here at the same time, doesn't that kind of mean they have to be two different entities somehow?

I wonder on that. There's been no indication they differ in timeline. And truthfully I am not the expert on what souls may do, existing in parallel or not once split in the same world.

I could theorize. But I've no way to prove or disprove my hypothesis.

...I guess it doesn't really matter.

For practical purposes not really. Academically it is quite fascinating.

But it does not change what has transpired. Nor do I think it means they are in danger of merging. Though that is again only conjecture and intuition.

I've never really been much of an academic.

At least I think they both probably got through it okay.

Vergil seems all right. Though I cannot say Raven looks pleased.

...It sounds like it did. Only... the other direction. Blue rather than red...
