[ After a long, long, long night, you wake in the dead zone, having slept more deeply than you've ever slept before.

Perhaps more restfully than you've ever slept before, even—do you remember your dreams? Is it all coming back to you, now?

For certain dreamers, the flower markings have disappeared, though if you wake early enough you can catch them glowing bright before burning away painlessly. With that, it feels as though maybe a weight's been lifted off your shoulders—maybe you really needed that sleep.

For certain dreamers, you may find yourself waking up with something new—was that always in your hands? Where did you get that from? Do you remember?

And, for a certain few unlucky dreamers, you may find yourself waking with pain, wounds or scars that remind you that what happened last night was not entirely a dream.

But then, who could ever believe it was a dream anyway?

The sun shines bright; Heaven's chain shines brighter. In the distance, white clouds roll toward the city, threatening rain.

I do rather feel as if I am being judged for my performance in some sense.

I'm a rather private individual. Though far more genuine than people believe. I suppose being suspicious has that advantage. I can say whatever I like and mean all of it, if I wish, and no one will believe a word.

I'm sure you must be more sincere than you seem. Vergil wouldn't like you otherwise.

But it's very hard to tell.

I would say his esteem puts the lie to my facade but then he does like his brother, whether or not he'll ever admit it.

Are you comparing yourself to Dante?

Not remotely. My brand of disingenuos is far removed from his.

I would even call Dante less sincere at times than myself. But that is by design on his part and no interest in such effort on my own, I imagine.

...His brand is a lot more appealing to me, but I guess that's probably because he put most of that effort in flirting with me.

Well. That is true. He does put his efforts into being... well if not directly likable, more personable? Ridiculous, but in a way that can be charming.

Yes. And "ridiculous, but in a way that can be charming" is a pretty solid description of my type.

It depends on the level? Few people wish to be bored. But some may find a collection of tropical fish absolutely riveting and exciting while others have no interest whatsoever. The dullest thing in the world.

Seeking thrills is just your particular brand of tropical fish collection, I assume.

...I'm not really a thrill-seeker on the level of some people. I'm not particularly into fights to the death or high speed car chases or anything... at least not independently.

I just like... things that make me feel things.

Might I ask what makes you... well feel things?

...I mean... a lot of different things, obviously. Embarrassment is a feeling... Maybe that's why I find people who are embarrassing to be endearing. Or I guess you could say it's amusing, too.

But there's also... the satisfaction of getting a reaction from someone. Delight in accomplishing a challenge. Camaraderie doing things together. That kind of thing. Even... leaving aside the more suggestive meanings of excitement and feelings.

More obviously... emotional reactions resonate with you then? And togetherness?

...Yeah. I'm not... especially used to having either of those things, I guess. So it's nice.
