[ After a long, long, long night, you wake in the dead zone, having slept more deeply than you've ever slept before.

Perhaps more restfully than you've ever slept before, even—do you remember your dreams? Is it all coming back to you, now?

For certain dreamers, the flower markings have disappeared, though if you wake early enough you can catch them glowing bright before burning away painlessly. With that, it feels as though maybe a weight's been lifted off your shoulders—maybe you really needed that sleep.

For certain dreamers, you may find yourself waking up with something new—was that always in your hands? Where did you get that from? Do you remember?

And, for a certain few unlucky dreamers, you may find yourself waking with pain, wounds or scars that remind you that what happened last night was not entirely a dream.

But then, who could ever believe it was a dream anyway?

The sun shines bright; Heaven's chain shines brighter. In the distance, white clouds roll toward the city, threatening rain.

Probably. I hate this place, and... well, I guess you never really had to deal with the consequences until recently. [ she’ll help him the fuck out of here, but as soon as they’re clear she’s summoning hydra to find and bring them to a park bench. ]

I was in your heart or head or whatever. And Vergil’s too. [ and a few others. ]

[he tugs at the SSS sticker on his shirt]

It felt... strange. And some of it is... hazy.

I don’t remember much from his, if I’m being honest. My head is a bit foggy too. [ soon hydra finds a bench for them and stops, letting them hop off and go sit. he’s going to lounge around the general area in the meantime. ]

...from ideal worlds to hearts, this place sure does love diving straight into people to stir shit up.

[raven takes a seat and takes a deep breath, starting to feel a little better]

Were you hurt at all?

[ sits back and drapes an arm over her face, shutting her eyes and just... sighing. ]

A little, but it’s nothing I couldn’t handle. I’m one tough cookie. [ ribs him, letting her arm drop to crack a smile. ]

[he places his hand on top of her head, and pets her hair gently]

I know. But I want to comfort you, if I can.

[ slouches into him and leans up toward his hand. ] ...just having you beside me, Raven, is calming enough. I already feel more at ease.

[keeps petting her hair]

[ coils her tail around him and tugs him a bit closer. ] ...love you, Raven.

It's not bad, Raven, and you've definitely improved immensely. I... appreciate it, and it really means a lot to me.

... [ cracks a small smile, but it wavers and so she looks aside. ] I'll get there. I have you and... we'll see what else the future holds, I... guess.

[he holds his hand out to her]

I know, Raven, and I'm not going to let you go; ever. [ she takes his hand and threads their fingers together, giving a gentle squeeze. ] I'll be there for you through the good and the bad, though here's to hoping we have more of the former.

[he brings her hand up to his cheek, and holds it there]

I want to be there for you, too.

[ he’ll probably feel her fingertips twitch the moment they hit his skin, but eventually they relax. ]

You sure you can handle all that responsibility? [ half joking. ]

Don't be foolish.

[he kisses the inside of her palm]

Haven't I told you before how greedy I am? That means I want all of you. All of you.

[ curls her fingers into his cheek. ] Just making sure. I... remember that, once upon a time, my problems were a little too much for you. I still don’t want to make things harder on you, but if you’re sure you can carry a bit of the burden...

I think I can handle it. I might not be... the best person to help you, but I want to try.
