[ After a long, long, long night, you wake in the dead zone, having slept more deeply than you've ever slept before.

Perhaps more restfully than you've ever slept before, even—do you remember your dreams? Is it all coming back to you, now?

For certain dreamers, the flower markings have disappeared, though if you wake early enough you can catch them glowing bright before burning away painlessly. With that, it feels as though maybe a weight's been lifted off your shoulders—maybe you really needed that sleep.

For certain dreamers, you may find yourself waking up with something new—was that always in your hands? Where did you get that from? Do you remember?

And, for a certain few unlucky dreamers, you may find yourself waking with pain, wounds or scars that remind you that what happened last night was not entirely a dream.

But then, who could ever believe it was a dream anyway?

The sun shines bright; Heaven's chain shines brighter. In the distance, white clouds roll toward the city, threatening rain.

[ He'll squeeze his hand back right away, and once he's done talking with Lahabrea, he just looks at him ]

I'm almost sad I'm not the one who put you in this.

Careful. I will step on you with these heels.

[He brings his fingers to kiss. How strongly or telling is he gripping him anyway?]

[ A little more strongly than necessary, it won't be difficult to tell he's upset but trying to look flippant like nothing's wrong ]

That's not exactly a convincing argument against it, you realize.

You assume I would do it in a way that would be pleasant.

[Ah. He kneels slightly only so he can wraps both arms around him and pull him into a tight hug, petting his hair.]

Whatever is going through your mind, we are here. Do take comfort in it.

You wouldn't hurt me in a way that isn't pleasant, you love me too much for that.

[ And case in point, him pulling him into a hug and saying that. There's a small smile at that, and he rests his head against him, arms going around him ]

I know. And I'm grateful for it.

Look at how incredibly soft I'm becoming.

[He laughs softly as he says it.]

We can speak more in depth once we return to the dorms. And I should thank you for all the help you provided. I could not have done it on my own.

You could have.

But it's easier when we are together. I prefer that too.

I don't think I could. I am not able to be in more than one place at once.

[He kisses the top of his head as he rising, taking his hand again.]

It was nice to work together, was it not?

It was, yes.

Admittedly it feels like anything is possible while we're working together. We make a good team.

Keep a hold of that feeling for one day we will make it a reality.

[He kisses his check.]

How was Vergil's mother?

Nice.

Though it did feel somewhat overwhelming to meet her.

I can imagine, but I'm sure you imparted our feelings well.

I really am proud of you for that. How much you've grown.

[time5kip]

[ he squeezes his hand at that, and offers him a small smile ]

She already knew most of that anyway. But it did feel nice, to let her know.

[He squeezes his hand back.]

Did she? She was an extension of Vergil's heart. His confidence in being needed. I do think at times he feels a little out of his depth. And thus we try to reassure him.

But do recognize how much emotional growth you've had. For Vergil. For myself. For Cosmo. You were not being modest when you said you were a fast learner.

I'm never modest.

But it still feels like it's not nearly enough sometimes.

You're still learning. Growing. You will make mistakes. Learn better techniques. And perhaps at times it will fall short, but then again so do my skills.

Do not be hard on yourself.

I know. I won't beat myself over it too much and in the end I was successful - I did deliver the message, and the moment was quite touching. So I hardly have anything to complain about.

How are you, by the way?

A bit concerned that fear of loneliness taints so many hearts. Though I do hope over time yours has lessened considerably. But I do need to tend to Vergil. To Absinthe. And perhaps even Izanagi.

And Levity, if I can find the courage.

—Was he one of the people whose soul you went inside?

Izanagi? Yes. Levity. No. But I have heard he is feeling not as .... well, that he doesn't quite fit in.

[time5kip]

Do you imagine it would help if we invited him over with us?

[firstworldproblem]

Since Lily and Absinthe are both in BARiTONES, I think Levity would like to be invited. And that we should.

You can invite Klaus and Luther if you wish. I'm sure they are a little shook up if they entered for the first time.

I'm going to ask them if they're fine but for tonight I think it'd be best not to have them come along with us. If that's all the same to you.

The choice is always yours. And if you need to step away for a few moments do take your time. We will leave the door open and my phone is always readily available.

Do not push yourself too hard. I can tell you are shaken a little.

It was easier to focus on what I had to do while I was in the middle of it. Now that everything has calmed down some it feels a bit much.

But I'm okay, and it isn't that I want to be alone so much as I don't want them to see me potentially shaken.
