[If you're walking through a lobby, you might suddenly get BLOCKED by a giant whiteboard that's now in your way. If you try to get around it, it's gonna go back to blocking your way. There are also two of these things for some reason.]

Welcome ladies, gentlemen, dragon-aliens, whatever else I don't judge, to my fabulous magic show. I'm totally a certified magician, you can believe me. Look, I'm wearing an all black suit and shady sunglasses and everything.

Here's the deal, draw something, anything on this board. If you draw something, I'll make it disappear.

[OOC: Lets doodle together! Let your characters draw something on the whiteboards, I've linked two above. They apparently erase after 14 days so I'll screencap them for everyone to reference later! I'm gonna theoretically warn for nsfw because I don't trust that someone won't draw dicks, tbqh.

Rules:
1. Try not to erase other ppl's work! I think it erases by lines that are connected, but I'm not entirely too sure.
2. Try not to take too much of the board, but I know space is limited so I made two boards. I can add a third if needed, just ping Celi on discord!
3. If you doodle but don't tag, I'll make a toplevel so you can note that you doodled for points.

In stories and such, yeah. They're definitely fantasy creatures where I'm... ah, as far as I'm familiar with.

[hesitates a moment]

...I was going to say "where I'm from," but "as far as I'm familiar with" is more accurate. I don't know for sure how truthful my memories actually are to the world I'm from.

[weenwoon]

[He tilts his head, curious.]

Can that happen?

...It can to me. All the memories I've gotten back here are from the same location and period of time... everything I'm aware of before then is false. Implanted memories.

[weenwoon]

[Levity stares at her in surprise, then folds his arms.]

...Oh. Heavens. But how did you find that out?

[He's... trying to figure out the logistics of figuring out that your memories are implanted.]

I have memories of getting new memories with something called a Flashback Light, which were used to manipulate us into acting the way the people running the show wanted. Apparently they ended up getting a bit hasty with them and things were inconsistent, so a friend of mine figured out that something was going on. Then they confirmed it wasn't just those memories that were fake... it was everything we remembered.

[(angel voice) wowee

Which is to say, that is A Lot for Levity to process. Suddenly it makes sense that Glory would look out for him, given how clueless he was at the beginning...]

Wait... You do not mean here, yes? That was back in your world? It sounds terribly similar to this place.

...And it sounds terrible. I'm sorry.

[Even though Levity knows Glory isn't one to take kindly to pity, what else is there to say when that's actually how it makes him feel?]

[she doesn't seem to mind that, actually. it WAS terrible.]

Yeah, it was similar... or, it was actually worse than here in a lot of ways. The whole thing was a killing game broadcast to an audience. It was a lot smaller space to be trapped in. And there were only 16 people to start with... and less as it went on, since death was permanent.

[Yeah at one point it stops being pity and starts being "that is objectively horrible on every goddamn front". Levity's face very much so reflects that realization.]

I... excuse me?

[He shakes his head anxiously, trying to find some logic in that.]

What--and forgive me the wording--the fuck is supposed to be the purpose behind that?

[this is why she stayed vague on her backstory in their first conversation. he seemed like he would take it badly.

Entertainment? Supposedly, the whole world was so peaceful it was boring, so people enjoyed watching the killing game. That's what we were told, anyway. I don't remember the world being peaceful... I remember being an assassin. And I don't really believe it would work like that.

But that's why I can't really say anything for sure.

[Levity frowns.]

No, it... it really would not work like that. My world was peaceful, and we never needed to resort to anything like that!

[As far as he knows, but.]

It just--sounds like there was someone really twisted in charge of it. Like here. Absinthe... tells me there are some people who simply enjoy violence and the suffering of others. I do not understand it, nor do I want to believe it, but... maybe it was something like that for you.

[He looks away, biting at his lip.]

But whatever the reason... I'm sorry. And it's strange to say about this place, but I am glad that you are here rather than back there. At least here we can still be kinder to each other...

[rollplayinghouse]

Part of it was definitely sadistic, yeah. But some of it was also... people wanting to see hope triumph in the face of adversity. The more horrible things were, the more we could still lift our heads and still continue... That's why they had to give us memories to keep us going. Make us believe we were friends working together who wouldn't give up, so we could be betrayed again by something worse.

[she shakes her head once, sharply.]

I'm... glad to be here, too. Most of all because... Well, you asked when we first met what it was like finding out what kind of person you were from your memories, and I said I couldn't do that. All my memories are lies and manipulation, so I'm glad to be able to decide who I am for myself.
