If you're out for a walk (or a hunt) today, you may find the park remarkably empty of imps...? Maybe it's a good place to get some breathing room.

Haha just kidding. It looks like they've just taken cover; the whole park is full of trip wires and pit traps, and if you fall into one (or are just distracted long enough), an imp will pop out from behind a bush to pelt you with something. Stolen food, mud, potion, other stolen things... And what might at first appear to be a pile of wires by a lamp post is in fact a large pile of handcuffs and keys, which the imps are also making frequent use of. Have fun.

Or maybe you're doing something else...?

[It's early evening. The clouds above are black and threatening, ushering in the dark of night ahead of schedule.

Cobalt's standing in the street in front of the hotel, dressed in a Bad End outfit. He has a small lantern clipped to his belt, and a massive, disc-shaped object tucked under one arm, covered in a cloth.

He's addressing Thorn, Hurricane, and Nemesis.]

I'm sure some or all of this is stuff you guys probably already know, but I'm going to go over it again real fast just to make sure we're all on the same page. I would also appreciate you guys correcting my info if you've heard something different.

These things running around are creatures born from negative feelings like malevolence, spite, and ill will. They're hell-native — not daemons from Eos like I originally thought. But when they get stronger, they feed on people's ..."souls," I guess. And whatever they eat is difficult or impossible to recover, so they're still plenty dangerous.

Also, when they poof into smoke, they're not actually dead, it's just their physical form that's disrupted. The smoke they leave behind is still demon. And there's a good chance that smoke can reform back into a bigger demon.

[he points overhead at the black clouds hanging over them all]

These clouds are probably part of them.

K had some kinda way to like... suck up the smoke or whatever. I guess maybe if we take em out and then do that, they can't go Stay Puft marshmallow dude on us...?

But I do know that "killing" them doesn't really kill them, it just breaks up their physical form. The smoke they leave behind is still demon, and there's a good chance it can collect and reform as something bigger and stronger.

I get the impression that's what these dark clouds probably are. Demon smoke.

Way I heard it, it was a botched summon. A whole bunch of em came through before they got the gate closed again.

So... they ain't coming no more, at least, we just got a whole bunch of em all at once.
