[hysmine was a life saver here, for any left over disorientation. but when they stop, Jason's eyes flash red, and he launches forward, kicking down one of the weak trees they'd been stationed in.

[raven had followed them as soon as he could, floating up at a moderate speed, landing behind them just in time to see jason stab one. he quickly takes his knife and pricks his finger, dripping blood onto the paper and focusing--not saying anything out loud, just concentrating and trying to feel for how the spell works.

the dust from the nearby imp dissipates, that much is obvious to all three of them]

[he says, shreds the paper, and takes out another sheet to repeat the process]

[Everyone within the range of his voice freezes in place from the Appel - including Jason, sorry babe. But it lets Nero and his Feint rush the four remaining imps with his swords, poofing them all in one synchronized strike.]

It's opening a rift. Just for a moment, just long enough for me to grab whatever's closest and--

[and like that, the three imps that were trapped but not yet poofed seem to get sucked into nothingness]

This is definitely unstable magic... but it's working.

[Glances back over at Raven, in time to see one stray imp trying to sneak up on him while he was preoccupied with the spell. Firing his grappling hook just past Raven's head, he snatches it in his claws before it could strike and crushes it into smoke.
