Mom was a bird, dad was a bird, they made an egg, I hatched, grew up in a bird-run society, lived a bird life, and then when they brought me here they forced me into a human body for, I can only assume, broader appeal.

What a bizarre situation...

Why did you want to be asked about this?

It's an easy and flashy topic where I have answers for pretty much any conceivable question that could come out of it, and directing the flow of the conversation in advance stops people from accidentally asking prying questions. I mean, given a choice, what would you rather be asked about?

Preferences, I suppose. Though I have no problems with the truth.

So if someone asked, like, 'what's your greatest fear', you'd be fine with telling them just like that? What if someone asked what you're most ashamed of? Secret weaknesses? Asked something like 'what are you hiding'? Because that could be anything. It doesn't have to be something dark like a secret crime. It could be 'I'm unhappy and don't want to inconvenience my friends with it'. I don't have any problem with the truth but if I know I'm going to be forced to tell it, I want to control the conversation.

I would not be particularly pleased. But I have no reason to lie.

That's honestly a little strange. Most people do.

Most people think they do. There is a difference.

I was hardly judging you on your actions. In fact, I think it is clever to control the conversation, as you say. I was merely speaking about my own perspective toward honesty, as it concerns myself.

You are all terribly defensive about all this.

When you say things like ‘most people’ you are talking about people besides yourself, though! So, I mean.

I was pointing out the flaw in your use of the term. People do not have to lie, they believe they do for various reasons. It is not quite the same.

You are the one who apparently finds it strange that I have no qualms about the truth. I think the defensive one here is you.

'No qualms about the truth' in general is pretty different from 'no qualms about the truth ever in any circumstance including things like, a stranger asking you your innermost fears or darkest secrets'. You have got to admit the last one is weird.

I told you before, I would not like it, but I would manage it.

Doesn't 'not liking it' count as a qualm, though.

It will not prevent me from speaking truth to it.

We don't actually have different takes on that. I haven't had a drink this whole game, for example. Honesty doesn't frighten me, and I'm not as married to lies as you seem to think!

But there are people who do need to lie and I think dismissing it as 'they only think they do' is condescending, overgeneralizing, and rude.

I disagree. It is not a need, it is a want. It may have valid reasons, but it is still a want.
