[ You’re in a garden. It’s lush, beautiful, and almost too wild with growth to quite merit the term “garden.” There are fruit trees here, their trunks twisted and knobbled with age, their branches still low enough to easily reach. The ground is carpeted with colorful wildflowers, and flowering vines and wild roses twine around trees and golden trellises alike.

In the center of this roughly circular area is a broken-down stone fountain. The water sits stagnant, and nothing remains of the fountain’s design except a basin and the shattered base of a once-golden sculpture.

The light here is twilit—or just kind of dim, if you want to be less romantic about it. Looking overhead, it’s easy to see why: actually, the sky isn’t visible from this place at all. Instead, there’s a dense canopy of branches forming an almost perfect dome.

How did you get here?
The last thing you vaguely recall is a sudden fit of drowsiness. There’s no sign of any guide or host around, and your powers don’t currently work either.

Maybe, based on all the other idols here, it’s some kind of game…? ]

[ Well, it’s beautiful, in any event... or at least it clearly once was. The fountain’s base, where it isn’t shattered at least, is of pure white stone, cut without blemish, lines perfectly straight.

Whatever the sculpture was, though, is impossible to say. From some angles it looks like it could be the base of a person; from others, it just looks like alien geometry. Weird.

There's some sort of inscription in the base, but you can't quite make it out. Studying the strange, sweeping script makes your eyes blur, like they're trying to focus on something that... well, that refuses comprehension. ]

[ At least this way of "looking" gives your eyes a rest from trying and failing to focus. Perhaps that helps: it's not so dizzying to try to concentrate on the text this way.

You still can't read it, exactly, but there's... a feeling. This is a portrait of someone, but the name has broken along with the sculpture itself.

....Later, when Intensity looks at the scroll of instructions for the game, he can be fairly confident that it's in the same language used on the fountain. ]
