[ He checks and then begins to check again, as if the results don't make sense and flaws will be revealed on a second look through. He was sure. He had been so certain of what he had done, and now Persephone stood before him as if it had never been.

But he's unwilling to inflict more of his presence on him than necessary. His hands still through force of will, and he takes a step back to create space between them. He inhales a deep steadying breath before saying: ]

Good. I am so glad that nothing lasted; that at least the pain I inflicted was temporary and the nightmare I put you through was not one without end.

[no lasting physical damage, and his breath sounds regular as he breathes, no lung damage either. not even bruises. and will just continue holding still until Kuzuebiko's done, like an obedient little doll.]

[ Though he looks to the side, not quite able to look him in the eye. ]

If there is still use you have for me, I would be happy to gift you anything in the world. The yarn you left won't be wasted, at the very least.

[anyone else not on sensitIV...he would never forgive, for hurting his unitmate, even while in the thrall of an angry ghost. but he likes Kuzuebiko in a way that he doesn't like too many other people. he was angry, yes, but more angry about Anubis. he, Persephone can forgive.]

I remember the vow you made to me. And what I said then, about not wanting you to do anything drastic to yourself still applies. Please don't, ah, swallow any needles, or anything else along those lines.

You should not, though I hear that you are determined to do so. What I did was not forgivable.

[ Crossing his arms, looking strained. ]

[and that's the only reply he gives to that, because that's literally the only reason he is forgiving him. if anyone else from his unit had killed him and Anubis like that, no forgiveness ever. and he's still conflicted because of Anubis's death, too.] ...I didn't go with you, ah, unknowing, Kuzuebiko.
