Seeing you go in there made me admit to myself that I had been petty. Though of course by the time we met again, I'd been overtaken by that thing and become pettier than ever.

Maybe it was petty... but it was still honest of you, to a degree. More exaggerated, maybe?

The spirit, for lack of a better term, seemed to have suffered the same fate that you had; for a time I halfway believed I'd been trapped in the mirror myself, and I was overcome with a frantic, desperate loneliness.

If that ended up bringing out how I really felt... well, I think that was mere coincidence.

... Bad End's spirit was a thief who'd been stealing to keep bread on the table. One of their own sold their group out and they were executed.
