The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

[When literally everyone else has come and gone and like seconds before the doors lock a bleeding Phoenix will walk in.]

[H is here! Sitting on the counter twirling a saucepan in one hand while eating cake with another. Several knives are laid out beside him, ready to grab.

And lo, his favorite appears!]

You found me!

[Immediately trying for the door but you know, locked in now.]

Hey, hey! I thought you accepted you belong to me.

[How dare you?? H is shoving the rest of the cake in his mouth and picking up a real big knife with that hand, then hopping off the counter and approaching!]

[He's been shot in the leg and maybe also hip and slashed up so he's not in good shape but he's limping to keep a distance from H.]

I don't want to kill you. I don't want to keep killing people. Stop making me.

You won't have to kill anyone else.

[H is... well. He's got a couple of bruises, some scratches on his face, and one arm is covered in cuts of varying depths, but he's a lot better off than Phoenix. He's relying on that gap when he keeps coming for him, trying to back him up into a corner, next to some appliance or other.]

There's no one else here to kill.

[Scratch that shot in the leg and arm, slashed up a bit but mostly, you know, wounded though the heart. Anyway he's trying to keep from getting cornered again, and he is getting a knife out with his good hand.]

Why? Why is this fun for you? Is it getting you off to betray and betray and betray? You getting paid off for it?

It's vengeance. None of you can ever suffer as much as I have.

[This is objectively untrue maybe but still--

He's gonna try to hit Phoenix with the pan. At least it's not a shovel??]

[He can't even dodge like this, doing his best to shield with his shot arm and move with the hit, catching himself on the counter and then lunging at H with the knife. He's too fucked up to be that fast but he's trying.]

[Congrats you slice him over the ribs! It's not too hard cause hes currently trying to use that pan to push Phoenix against the fridge.]

You won't escape. You never do.

[He's having a rough time and he's not here for this nonsense! He stabs at H again but he is being pushed back by the pan and he knows he is but if he can just stab H there's no danger.]

[This time you stab him! In the arm. That sucks but hes shoving forward in a last ditch effort to get Phoenix's back against the fridge and then, dropping the pan and knife, grab Phoenix's hands and shove them through the reflection.]

The struggling thing is getting old.

Stop it--STOP IT!

[Probably the screaming is getting old also but he's too injured to fight back and he's starting to cry harder as his hands sink in to the fridge.]

[He stops! Phoenix is pinned, but he's not all the way in.]
