BETRAYAL AT THE HOUSE ON THE GAME TOWER - Session 11

What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

[He doesn't try to touch him again yet, not sitting quite because he's aware of and wary about Lucifel.]

Loki tilts his head a margin. he's just sitting on the floor now, his left arm limp at his side and his knees folded underneath him. perfectly fine and normal if not for the gaping wound in his stomach, ]

[Okay he's... trying to thread his fingers through Loki's hair again.]

[No that makes sense to his ghost. He's starting to tear up.]

I... I'm sorry.

[ Lucifel will remember this. ]

[ wait...

why is Phoenix crying? ... why is he apologizing to him? he didn't do anything to him. in this entire room, Phoenix is probably the one who has done the least wrong.

his touch is gentle and his voice is soft and it's all a little bit too much. it starts to bring Loki back to something resembling reality. ....... and that's really not where he wants to be right now. ]

Don't-- [ he tries to pull away again. he can't lose it again. he has to find persephone and anubis. he has to protect them, and lucifel too. he can't lose it. he can't start crying again. ]

[Look Lucifel you don't mind uh, Phoenix gently taking one of Loki's hands in his own, gently touching his palm and fingers and then pressing it to the floor and stabbing it there, right?

He's starting to sob.]

no... that's a lie actually. he did expect something like this. it was inevitable after all. but he wasn't expecting it quite like this.

he gasps out in pain, instinctively trying to pull away from the blade-- but that just serves to drive it in further. so instead he grabs at the hilt and tries to pull it out. ]

[He grabs for Loki's free hand, firm but also kind of gentle even as he tries to push Loki back, shove him down and do the same thing with this hand.]

[ curious tone, pretty innocuous ]

[ that's a really good question. he doesn't gasp out when the second blade goes in, but ]

Lucifel-- [ pleading. with the man who just stabbed and cut his finger off. yup. that's where he's at right now. ] Help. He's not... he's possessed,

[He's definitely crying, tears hitting Loki's cheeks as his face jerks up towards Lucifel at his question.]

I can't--none of you can be trusted but I don't want to be alone.

[ gently pets dandy's face ]

Fine. I don't know you, and I neither love nor hate you, but I understand loneliness. I'll stay with you.

[ he wanted to get pet by Lucifel but this isn't exactly how he thought it would happen.

it's not as if he's wrong, though. he's bleeding out it's only a matter of time. but with his hands stabbed to the floor like this he's forced to stay on his hands and knees. which isn't even remotely comfortable, all things considered. can your guts sink out of your body like this... ]

Phoenix... [ it hurts it hurts trying to reason isn't going to get him anywhere and he knows it, god help ]

I'm not-- I'm not going to leave.... [ he couldn't now. even if he wanted to.

and it's not like he doesn't understand. of course he does. but in understanding he knows just the kind of darkness Phoenix is capable of. ]

[He's whispering it to both of them, and when Lucifel is done he's dropping his face to Loki's shoulder and starting to cry harder.]

I didn't want to hurt anyone. I just don't want to be alone.

[He's repeating himself but what else can he say?]

there's something weirdly comforting about Phoenix crying into his shoulder though. that sickness inside of him that thinks good. he should cry. he should feel terrible. this is just what he gets.

but the largest part of him knows too well what being alone feels like. even so, he can't do anything... he can't touch him, he can't comfort him like this. and he's already so tired.... ]

[Actually he really likes petting but it makes hims sob harder, so like, there's that.]

Even though he's going away, you can take a part of him with you. Then, he'll never leave you. He'll always be with you.

[ phoenix he's bleeding he can't exactly help it. he starts to try and say something, some meaningless empty words of comfort, when Lucifel speaks again. unfortunately.

his eyes shoot up towards him, wide. knowing exactly what he means, and not exactly appreciating him for it. that is some Whisky shit. ]
