What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The game starts with you in elevators, the doors jammed shut. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, but there's no introduction to today's game.

It's just as well. Those of you who recognize it need no introduction to it. Those of you who don't couldn't be prepared by any host's opening spiel, anyway.

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

the gunshot is the straw that breaks the camel's metaphorical back, and before Anubis really even thinks about it he shouts and he's swinging the gold candle holder at Wednesday's head.

[It hits her in the shoulder; she staggers, but doesn't fall.]

[takes a step back in surprise when his hit collides with Levi instead. everything's happening so fast now-- he flinches every time a shot rings out-- but he's still got a white-knuckled grip on the candle holder.]

Nine...! Levi-san, stop it, I know you're crazy, but she's trying to kill him!

[The hit does hurt but he manages to stay on his feet. ]

He's in front of her, but shifts in an effort to try and disarm Anubis to take the candle-holder for himself, with a roll of 4 speed ]

[okay after some discussion that's a might roll, which comes out to be a 5.

so Levi's swipe isn't quite fast enough to keep Anubis from yanking the candle holder back.]

[99 gets up in her grill and counters with a 2. For flavor text, it's a punch to the face, but it is a opposing speed roll. These two, and their rolls!]

[ He-- grabs her hand, forcing her to lower her weapon. ]

[It's just a hallway, and where else do they have to go, now?

[She casts an anxious glance behind her at the others; she glances anxiously up at him, as he leads her away down one of the intersecting passages: she wonders, is this what it felt like to Hiryuu-chan? Wanting to trust, but knowing that it's impossible?

[She has to be afraid of him too, now.]

[ There's really nowhere for them to go it seems, they can't...get out of the room. Still, he is gentle with her as he tugs her behind him, before finding a corner all their own. There's a beat... before he tugs her into his arms, emotion thick in his voice. ]

[She's lost.

[She wants to believe in him just as much as he must have wanted to, before - before she--]

[Wednesday wraps her arms about him, just as she did before.

[Whatever happens now, whatever he says, whatever he does: it's okay, she thinks, it's all okay. She's trembling as she closes her eyes, though whether it's with fear or with pain and blood loss, or with exhaustion, she couldn't begin to imagine. She loves him, that's all, and whatever he does to her now, well, she's more than earned it. She's not going to fight.]
