[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

You're crying about betrayers, but you're the only one dragging everyone else into your hysterics. Now E is dead and Boss is going through the same thing you did, and none of it had to happen. You're the one who did this. You. You pathetic piece of shit.

[A has a similar grip on the axe handle]

[ There's a part of Sanguine that actually does believe everything that A is saying, a part of him buried deep inside that's crying out over this whole situation. That part is not at the wheel right now, though. ]

E deserved to die.

[ That's all he has to say in response to that. He's outnumbered, if he tries to fight— The Taisho girl will probably come to his defense. They seem close. A is going to kill him. If A doesn't try to kill him, Kuzuebiko will.

So: He's going to die. That's fine. At least he won't be in the mirror this time. But he's going to make A take the first move. ]

I'm not interested in your opinion on that subject. If you don't want another century added onto your sentence, you'll drop the knife, shut your mouth, and give up the things you stole. I'm not going to warn you twice.

[ Sanguine considers that for a moment. On the one hand: He very much does not want another century added to his experience. On the other hand: A looks angry enough to kill him over shoving him in the mirror, and anyway, he's not giving those back. They're his things now? ]

No.

[ He says it very placidly. ]

Then face the consequences of your actions!

[A attempts to disarm him in a way that is perhaps more literal than strictly necessary. You get what you axe for, am I right?]

[ On the one hand, he knew that A was going to attack. On the other hand, there's no way he's dodging that attack in time. So he's (literally) disarmed with a scream and he drops to the ground, clutching at his stump in (a mixture of) pain (and arousal? don't mind that).

He's breathing heavily, but manages to twist his mouth into a grin. ]

It's... your fault too.. you know? Oh well. At least you're... better than... him.

[ He glances over at E deliberately. ]

I told you to shut up.

[Up until now, A had himself fairly convinced that he was only neutralizing a threat, since surely Sanguine is not going to act rationally when stuck in here with him and mirrors. But at some point you have to admit to yourself that you're just mad and want to murder somebody. So he swings again, going for the neck.]

[ All things considered, that was a fairly reasonable assumption on A's part.

But now A's succeeded in his vengeance/anger murder! He probably misses the flicker of relief in Sanguine's eyes right before the axe strikes him. Regardless of whether or not A got the head off in one clean blow, Sanguine is dead and his body slumps over in front of the mirror. ]
