BETRAYAL AT THE HOUSE ON THE GAME TOWER - Session 9

What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

[ he takes the chance when he sees it; stepping forward again, trying to swipe at his feet with his own and get him down while he's scrambling for that spear. ]

[ fuck.

he goes down, but he does at least manage to grab the hilt of the shovel. with own hand he swings it in an arc, attempting to create a sort of space between himself and Whisky as he pushes himself back. the sort of panicked response you'd expect from a cornered animal. ]

[ he determinedly goes down to straddle him and that shovel even clips him as he does but he doesn't seem deterred -- aims to try to pin down that arm, so one arm's fucked up from the knife stab and the other he has trapped. ]

[ that's his shovel arm damnit.

he struggles, trying to pull his arm out of whisky's grip but it's hard without any real leverage. when that doesn't work he forces his other arm to move. reaching up to claw at the other man's face, gouge his eyes out, push him away, anything. ]

Shh.

[ as if Loki were saying anything. he's grabbing for that hand with his own free one, ~ tangling his fingers in his ~, leaning down close over him. ]

Weren't you saying, love and hate are two sides of the same coin? So do you love me now, or hate me?

[ he freezes. no. no this isn't how this was supposed to go. this isn't how anything was supposed to go. he was supposed to save Lucifel. he was supposed to serve his Princess. he was supposed to meet Whisky again and carve his heart out. he was supposed to protect everyone. he-- ]

[ it's as if all of a sudden everything-- every taut string holding him together just snaps-- and he gasps out. a wet, choking sob. this is too much. he can't do this anymore. ]

Stop! Just get away from me! [ he tries to tug his fingers out but it's such a weak attempt. he hates him. he's afraid. he's going to die without protecting anything. ]

What the hell is wrong with you!? Desecrating the dead-- Princess... Hiryuu... you're sick. I... killed.....

[ he. is just crying now. it's been a long week, Whisky. ]

[ his ears perk, and it's almost with a scientific sort of curiosity he drops his hand to cup his face, feeling at those tears with a thumb. he's seen someone cry before in his memories but it's still obviously something he's never experienced himself, and it's one thing to remember it and another to experience it in real time again. ]

It's okay now. Why are you crying? You'll be here with me, and that's all you need.

[ his thumb runs up under the eye socket before he just fucking.

jams his thumb in there. he'd do it with the knife but honestly he's already got one hand occupied with handholding and that seems important. he wants the attention. ]

[ ah-

he goes still again, his sobbing kind of cut of with a small hic of pain. just in time for ~~that gunshot~~ excuse me multiple gunshots to go off not too far from them when Santa shoots at Lucifel. it's a lot to process though so he just. doesn't. right now.

it hurts. it hurts, and it feels strange. Whisky's thumb pressing into his eye socket where it doesn't belong. his vision in that eye blurs almost immediately but it's not like he could see much beyond his tears anyways. all he can hear and feel now is Whisky.

"you'll be here with me, and that's all you need".

his fingers tighten around Whisky's. he hates him. he hates him so much. but at least he's not running away from him. ]

[ shh don't get distracted by the sound of bullets. that's not important!

what is important is he's going to be using the rest of the fingers on that hand -- plunge in the rest in, fingertips hooking in to be able to level our the majority of the eye with just that. even if it's messy and he kind of has to yank to get the nerves properly disconnected before he can do so

so that will all be a fun good time. but at least he's here with him, he's not leaving, he wants Loki's attention solely focused on him. ]

[ there's another shot. he's at least vaguely aware of that one-- there's a sinking feeling in his stomach when he hears it, something's wrong, but his attention is immediately pulled back to Whisky when those fingers start yanking and then all he can hear is his own raw, gasp of a scream.

it hurts. it hurts it hurts it hurts. it's the only real thing he can feel right now and it hurts. instinctively he reaches up with his one free hand again to grab at Whisky's arm but he doesn't actually do anything with it. his breathing quickened with his heartbeat as he clings on tightly. ]

[ Loki can grab for it but at this point can't really stop Whisky from what he's focused on; that eye in in his hands now, and it's not a clean thing at all just having ripped it out with his bare fingers, vitreous coating his fingers and running down his wrist as he leans back with it.

he tips his head back to be able to drop the eye into his mouth with a satisfied sound, a crunch as he bites down, swallows -- then licks up the trace fluid leaking down his own wrist, like he's really savoring this. ]

[ FUCKING EXCUSE ME!

covered in fucking blood and anubis brains and also her own tears and pointing her gun at Whisky ]

Whiskers, what the fuck? Can I not fuckin' leave anyone in this room alone for ten fuckin' seconds?

[ he can hear it better than he can see it. he can at least make out a blurry figure in one eye, but his other is just. gone. it's gone, and Whisky is eating it. he's consuming it. a part of him.....

his breathing and crying quieted, he reaches up again. in a sort-of daze. just... reaching for him. for. something? ]

........... Wh...

[ oh nevermind santa is here, hi santa. ]

[ he grabs Loki's hand again to bring it up to Whisky's head, his ears, to encourage him to pet. though he does tilt his head when he hears Santa approach, smiling nicely at her.]

[ her voice wavers, but she can't say she doesn't enjoy this. despite everything, she finally feels in control of something. she's on top this time, and what's better is she got to fight and kill and even that feels so good and she hates it but --

-- there's not time to think about that. because Loki needs her. she laughs, sadly, moving the gun to his head once Whisky leaves. ]

[ ....... of course. now he just feels like crying again. he couldn't protect anyone. and now Santa sounds like she's going to cry.

he closes his eye, leaning his head into the barrel of the gun as if it's her that he's nuzzling into. ]

Then kill me.

[ she smiles (a totally nice and safe and only slightly unhinged smile) and kisses her hand, touching it to his forehead. ]

'Course! I'm not lettin' anyone else kill you. If you're happy, it'll be 'cause of me. If you're sufferin', it'll be 'cause of me.

And...I think it'll all be okay. In the end, I mean. I think it'll all turn out alright. Night, Loki. See ya in the mornin'.
