BETRAYAL AT THE HOUSE ON THE GAME TOWER - Session 9

What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

[Frowns a little more.]

Too bad.

[They give Lacy a lingering look. Almost looking regretful. This will probably further damage relations with ZRAEL and avante, but there's no help for it.

Killing the traitors is the only way to keep everyone safe.

So they are going to try and slam the butt of their spear into Lace's head, with a 7 ]

[well HERE WE GO. Lace makes a startled kind of sound as Cardigan approaches, but it's more excited than upset. He was already too close to dodge away, and rolls a 6. oof.]

Ow, ow, ow!

[Counterattacks with his shovel to try and make them give him some distance! Except he... rolls a 0 on speed...]

[Yeah this 8 is going to block that like it's nothing and the spear haft is going to smack the shit out of you. Cardigan grabs for him to start dragging him toward the fountain with a speed roll of 4]

[Rolls a 5, so he manages to tear himself away from their grasp. The poor coat he's wearing is prolly just lost a button, though. Gonna go for another thwack, two can play this haft-jabbing game. That's another 5!]

[Blocks it with a ten and lunges again, darting for another grab with a 2]

[Gets a 2, so he is grabbed... again... and wrenches himself away again. Slippery dude. Maybe it's all that soot. He tries to grab them back but GETS ANOTHER 2 so we just had three 2s in a row, amazing.]

[Enough with this they are just going to try and knock him out. Since they got a vision of the future they are ROLLING A 6]

[He got ANOTHER TWO so that means. Ow. Down to two speed, one point before KO. That smack gets him good and he makes a noise at the back of his throat, a mix between pain and frustration. He needs this to be DONE, faster. He has something he needs to do! Not waste time like this! Lace attempts to smack them back, but it's only a 1 with his reduced speed.]

[Cardigan barely seems to notice Lace is fighting back. They whip the spear back around and slam it into him with a 9]

[Lace got a 3, so he finally goes limp with that last thud. He's probably bleeding from his head or something now, and definitely not going to be waking up no matter what happens next. Poor abused fountain.]

[Shoves a hand back through their hair, then leans dwn to haul them up with a grimace.

That took way too long.

They drag him over to the fountain, hurrying. Feeling his pulse fading. They have to do this right; the water will purge him.

Cardigan shoves Lace's head into the water.]
