BETRAYAL AT THE HOUSE ON THE GAME TOWER - Session 9

What: Betrayal at the House on the Game Tower

[ The GAME ALERT and map show on the screen of your phones— idols, you know what to do!

The Game Tower elevator doors are open to receive, and close once they have you in their confines and the broadcast monitors click on. You can keep an eye on the city further and further below you, as watch with your host's introduction to today's game.

At the very least it's not Mukuro's face on the screen this time. Instead it's Exael again, pigtails bouncing as she hops up from a grand low bow— it looks like they cut part of her broadcast spiel for you guys. With a showman's flair, she twirls and splays her arms as the camera zooms out to focus on a grand mansion, more Hollywood glamor than anything belonging in Tokyo.

"Summer has come to Tokyo, and so has the season's specialty: The Trial of Courage! Step right up, and charge right in because waiting won't help you at all! Here is a place even angels fear to tread! Azzy's very own, The House of Mirth and Betrayal! This place has a sordid past that casts a shadow as long as the valley of death, and soon our Idols will be adding their own pages to the tale!"

The elevator stops atop the central tower of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and then lurches unpleasantly, wrenching itself out of where elevators ought to go. The sudden movement jolts you, and when the doors open you spill out into into a room.

Hopefully, with not too much time missing. ]

[ WHAT'S UP, TAISHO? Sanguine's expression is entirely blank, he's holding onto a knife like it's a lifeline, and there's not a shred of sanity in his eyes. But hey, he seems more interested in hovering around Boss than attacking right now, so there's that? ]

[ He looks over at Shuten, and one might get the impression by the way his eyes flicker up and down that he's measuring Shuten up for size. One would be correct. He doesn't move from Boss's side, however. ]

You could say that.

[ His voice is creaky, rusty with disuse. ]

[shuten is over six feet tall and built like a brick shithouse, so that's a thing.

[ Sanguine's half an inch shy of six feet and got a fair amount of lean muscle himself, so that's not as intimidating as it might otherwise be. But he stares at Shuten for a full minute before he nods, almost as if reminding himself he needs to react. ]

We all make our own luck.

[ Sanguine tilts his head, and is it creepy if you laugh without smiling? Well, at least it isn't Phoenix's hysterical laughter, so that might be an improvement. ]

[ NOT REALLY. But for what it's worth, Sanguine's obviously and visibly sizing Kuzuebiko up as well. ]

[ A danseur's build— strong, but thin almost to the point of the muscle cannibalizing itself for fuel. He has no obvious weapons, and is not covered in blood. There is a lot of hatred in his gaze. ]

[ A reasonable threat, perhaps.

Sanguine's got lean muscles— an eighteen-year-old not quite done filling out, but the promise of broad shoulders and more muscle is there. He doesn't have much blood on him, except on his shirt— a shirt that's fairly torn up at this point. Unlike Kuzuebiko, he does have a weapon— a knife held firmly in his hand.

If he were a little more sane, he might be annoyed by that hatred in Kuzuebiko's eyes— hadn't he tried to help him?! But that was several lifetimes ago, and all he cares about right now is making sure Boss doesn't get hurt. His gaze is firm, steady, and not even slightly sane. ]

[ yeah okay, Shu's attention is distracted by hysterical laughter and he slams the mask on the person laughing hysterically because he's the more obvious target and he doesn't want to see his face
