I was part of group B—obviously, since there's no prison cell that could hold me. Gyahaha. And I met an angel during our little quest, who told me something interesting.

—Ah, but, anyway. Among some other stuff, they told me this: Heaven and Hell aren't fixed locations. They're both "generated by belief."

. . .belief? As in, they only exist if you reeeeeally believe in them super duper hard? What's that thing people call--faith?

Eeexactly. They exist when and where you want 'em. So when we tried to go to Heaven, we were really calling it to us—summoned it right into Hell itself. But looks like only some of us were faithful enough to get inside.

Iiiiinteresting. So that's why some stepped right into jail, huh? Hm.

Welp, okay, I gotta ask--what made YOU believe so hard? Or is this a case of you just accepting it's existence because why not?

Also, why are you telling me? I thought you weren't that big a fan of my cute little face.

I don't make a habit of overthinking things. It and I are as simple as that.

And you're right that you make my skin crawl—that hasn't changed. But I've got a little experiment I'd like to try based on what I just told you, and you're a million times better suited to the job than me.

So, it's like this: if Hell is generated by belief, what if we tried shaping that belief to be something a li~ttle more convenient for us?

Eeeexactly! You don't actually seem like the type that's looking for the power to lead, right? So that kind of rumor only benefits you in the sense that you're fucking Intensity.

Buuut, what about rumors that give you an edge? Like say, how idols are becoming stronger, or how Azrael could have the power to turn themselves into angels or demons.

Or if you're being petty and wanna start small, just trick the damned into sending you better fanmail.

It's not like I wouldn't seize power if I saw an opportunity. But it's true that I don't care about the leading part.

[ drums his fingers against his arm, hmmm. ]

It'd be a waste to use an opportunity like this on something that petty. The "idols are becoming stronger" thing has promise, though. Maybe, the seals on our original powers are starting to wear off...? Only problem is that I don't know how they took them away in the first place, so it's hard to come up with a believable spin.

Oooh, is someone missing their original powers? Neeheehee, well, it wouldn't hurt! A rumor is just that, a rumor, y'know? It doesn't have to make total sense.

Buuuut, it does have to have a little truth behind it. That's how the best lies hold up!

We've got gods and witches in our ranks who'd benefit more from that than me, but it'd be refreshing to be at full strength again.

But one other tip? The less obviously it benefits you, the more likely it the rumor is to slip through the cracks. "A powerful star will be the end of us," for example. Coded and up for many interpretations. But of course, you guys are the real stars, no?
