[ A young man wakes up in his bedroom. It just so happens that today, Day 138, is the date he will make his idol debut in Imeeji Idol Productions! Although it was ten years, three months, and two days since he was given a name, it is only today that he will be given an idol name!

What will that new name be? ]

[And sets Candyland down on the cube table, opening the box and setting up the pieces]

[She just smiles slightly when she sees the game.]

You only get to challenge Angel once you've beaten me, of course.

[What color does Maki seem like? He's almost attempted to give her blue (for her unit color) but that's his color -- so. Green. Green is kind of like turquoise]

Of course. Well, I've played with B and Nine Nine a few times, so I've been training.

[She takes green without objection.]

[Fake scoff]

As if either of those people are any challenge.

[He gestures for her to go first]

[She rolls her eyes very slightly and draws a card.]

Well, you don't know what you're getting into with me, yet.

Please. I think I've figured enough out by now.

Even when it comes to a game we've never played together before?

[Makes a gesture toward the board]

Going to move your piece?

...Of course.

[she moves forward a few squares]

[He draws a card and moves his - not as many as hers, but still]

Do you want to talk about what brought you here?

[She draws another card before answering that, and puts it back down with a huff before moving forward just one more spot.]

We've pretty much talked about it already. I just... tried to talk to Doodleman, about the things that were bothering me. And it didn't go very well.

Giving both of yourselves a cool off period?

[The next card allows his piece to overtake Maki's]

Yeah... it wasn't going to do any good to keep yelling at each other.

[Her next card also only proceeds her one space.]

[And moving farther ahead of Maki]

What was his position?

[Her hand just lingers over the cards as she answers]

...He asked if I was still mad at him, after I'd snapped at him after the space game. I told him I hadn't been mad at him to start with, that what he'd said just hit a sore point after people had been mad at me for not thinking about the unit, before. He said at least that was all resolved, and I told him it actually hadn't been, with Ashley...

He didn't seem to think that was a big deal. He didn't know I was upset about it at all... And even when I told him she'd gone to ask Taisho to date her just to spite me, he just thought it was funny.

Then when I was upset he didn't care I was upset, he got upset that I thought he didn't care.

[That. That is a lot of feelings, Maki. Was it is like to always feel that many feelings? (Intensity pretends he doesn't).]

Does that mean he does care? Or he doesn't?

...I'm sure he cares about ☆ZRAEL in general. That's part of his whole image of things... that everyone on the unit loves and supports each other. And I'm sure that's really significant to him, since previously he was a being of pure hate, or whatever.

[Finally draws a card, moving to the same square Intensity is on]

I'll assume from your avoidance that you don't think he cares about you.

[sighs]

Not that he totally doesn't. But he didn't see the contradiction between going on about how much the unit cares about each other and telling me it's no big deal that Ashley doesn't think of me as a unitmate and was specifically planning something just to hurt me.

Wouldn't admitting that force him to also admit that you and Ashley don't get along? Don't love and support each other. Perhaps he relies on that illusion of his unit as a crutch - and denies any evidence to the contrary.

Right. But that means... maintaining that illusion is more important to him than acknowledging my distress, even if it's right in front of him. Let alone trying to support me.

[He draws a card.

The curse of Mr. Mint means he has to move back a handful of spaces.]

[She glances briefly at Intensity, then picks up a card and fidgets with it before turning it over. It moves her forward another couple of squares.]

It's not like I even necessarily need him to talk about it, or anything. But he said he didn't even notice. That he assumed it wasn't a problem for me.

But it seems to be a problem for you.
