[ The game tower elevator doors open to a dark expanse, mist hemming in the edges of your vision. The whole scene seems to waver, as if it is not within the bounds of reality but some scene from a dream that will soon dissipate when the light of day comes.

Rather than a host's hologram usual distinct preamble and hologram, instead there is a poorly defined figure seen dimly in the distance. They reach out, and open a door, disappearing inside a house which emerges from the fog as if something sunken revealed, at last, by low tide.

Your phone vibrates: the rules now displayed on the glowing screen, mapping out what you should do from here as you venture into the darkness. ]

[ They start from one spot in particular, yes, as if a battle is still being waged unseen. The ripples continue, as if someone is still struggling in that spot. ]

[ It feels, for a moment, as if her hand made contact with something solid.

But no, it's not solidity. It's the sudden temperature change, the intense cold like wall in the water. And with it, water wells up in her throat— the fear of death, water in her nostrils and in her lungs, her vision swimming. There's confusion— someone too shocked to even process betrayal. In that moment, she can't even be mad, she can only be afraid.

Her vision is starting to go dark. ]
